Swearing in YAH

So there has been a lot of vocalizing about swearing in YAH, so I am looking for public views. Be aware that if swearing becomes allowed, it's all swears. So I am going to post this question. Do you want swearing in YAH? I'm closing this thread in a week, so put your thoughts here now.

I agree with a swear free room, but I also think that certain words should be allowed eg:- sh** shouldn't be a word to get banned for, rules could be relaxed for the very mild expletives

I'd question what is a swear word, **** can be used in many ways, sh** isntreally a swear word, bugger and bastard can be used to great comedy effect.

I have no preference as to whether swear words are permitted or not. I don't tend to use them myself and often find they are used by folk who are unable to articulate themselves in a more eloquent manner. It is not the words themselves (and yes I include the C word in that) that are offensive, it is the manner and context in which they are used, at whom and how they are directed and the intent when used that can become offensive.

That said, I do believe that people should be free to express themselves in any way they choose, and hence I have voted yes to this poll.

To create another room, intended to mimic YAH with a different set of rules would only serve to divide the well established community and I really do not see a need or any benefit in doing so. And, as a final point, the suggested name for said room, whether a joke or not, is highly patronizing and would not, in my opinion, be well received at all.

From what I see and my opinion is that a majority of chatters want a room that's swear free. The swears personally across UK chat doesn't bother me at the least. It's all drama

I agree with you shak I abhor the cu word and the fu words and if people feel the need to use them they can do so in the lobby as you say, mild expletives are ok. most of us that use yah do so because its a nice room

I don't want my ukchat experience spoilt by seeing objectionable words on my screen..So I've voted - NO swearing.
and if we lose the vote I will be demanding a 2nd vote. A people's vote.. simply because the people who voted for swearing didn't know what they
were voting for.. . .

If its going to be all swear words, thats going to be hard cause I think anything can be said as a curse, couple of examples I know of being balls and nuts.
