LadyOnArooftop, your perspective
is valued and held with respect.
As a timeless monologue between two pals,
where the laughs of the past, delighted us both
and filled various chat halls...

But, M'Lady, listen up, and as serious as it may look,
''our double act'' knows the truth...
that no matter the time, or the rhyme...
a cover may hold back,
a judge fingering a book.

With love in return X

Tribute poems, oh my word,
On the forum, it's unheard!
Impressive are your wordsmith powers,
it's streets ahead of getting flowers! :)

M,lady, is it flowers you want
or think you that an ode is better?
No contest there, I think
For both will fade and age, none better.

The Lady and TwoWhales
Went to the forum,
Posting suitable 'comic sans' poems,
They wrote something funny,
With meanings on the money,
Wrapped up in hand typed notes, daily.
The Whale looked up to the posts above,
And sang to a small ukulele,
"O lovely Lady! O Lady, above
What a delightful Lady you are,
You are,
You are!
What an Eiffel of a Lady you are!"
(with thanks to Mr Lear, M'dear.)

to be contd. sans flowers.

Hesaid, I like the look of
The ring in the end of your nose
I don,t suppose?
No! I do not, said Ms piggy
For it,s not one of those.
It,s just decoration
Not a lifetime,s declaration.

Not a lifetime,s declaration.
There was a bull, with the same ring
He didn't like the Thing......
So he began to sing
Help me get of off this ring!

Just made for Corona ?

‘E'd spread along the mistled moor
A’gaggin as e’d gone
E weren’t no fripper to be led
No prizes to be won.
E scagged the rut, ‘is heel all clod
’Is craken head aflame
‘E’d make his timber , knew ‘e not
Before the beldam came.
She’d come in belts of flikky fire
She’d come in scathes of smoke
She’d optimise through coily wreathes
All mortals so to choke.

On the forum conflicts are looming
The arguments are definitely booming
On and on they hector, goin toe to toe
Raging about things they don't really know!

Going over the top, quite a bit barmy
The silly buggers should have joined the army!
Ranting and raving, bitter and twisted
Yes the army's the place, I hope they've enlisted :)

For M'lady

Take your comic hobby, into the lobby,
where you chat and tease with glee.
Tell them stories
about superhero cronies
and the Marvel(lous) tales
from Stan Lee.

Keep up the good work bae. X

I have roamed for many years
Few have shed me any tears
For a young 'un not yet twenty
As for romance I had plenty

All my old haunts they remind me,
of lovers I knew back then
Sad and hapless, left behind me,
never to be seen again

So many years i've been away,
and life's hardly changed at all.
In spite of what they say
pride never came before a fall

Disassembling those feeling of desire,
of lust and love I must retire
Now I eat and drink till it all be gone,
and laugh at the suggestion I need someone ;)

I'm tired of trying to fit in
Tired of having to watch what I say
Fed up of this assault course called life
I wish the pain would go away

Sorry about the self pity, the feelings will pass.
Now and then you just need a good cry,
Even if you don't know the reason why... :(

It's been asked...
Should the west take out Putin?
A tyrant there can be no disputin.
Certainly a good preventative,
Must not be weak nor tentative.
Many are going under,
by design or blunder.
But should we claim one more,
Just to settle the score?

The life that I have
Is all that I have
And the life that I have Is yours.

The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours.

A sleep I shall have
A rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause.

For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours.
I don't know many poems really but I DO know this one. I think it's my favourite, its alternative short name simply being "Yours". You probably know it was used in WW2 by the British agent Violette Szabo who was captured, tortured and died at the hands of the Nazis.

Yes, a very poignant poem. it was written by the S.O.E cryptographer Leo Marks in tribute to his girlfriend who died in a plane crash. It was then issued to the British spy Violette Szabo, so she could send messages back to London in code. The poem later became well known when it was used in the movie 'Carve Her Name With Pride', which depicted her life. Like so many other brave women, she was executed at Ravensbruck concentration camp. :(
