I don`t mind anyone lining their pockets by whatever method but as long as it isn`t at the expense of the poorer people of the Planet.
When people are lining their pockets by millions, especially when there is a global disaster taking place, the chances are, it IS at the expense of the poor.

I don't know about the chatrooms, I know what I see on the forum.

If members and most of the staff here don't take your complaints seriously, either you are the master of your own downfall...or you are on the wrong forum.

In my exchanges with you, I don't believe I have insulted you, but you have said several nasty comments to me....so maybe look to yourself before you point the finger.
Cut and paste the "nasty" comments which i have made towards you plus anything which you may have written prior to them .
Thank you.

I have better things to do with my time than trawl round looking for your insults, but from memory, you have made disparaging comments ...eg "people like you" blah blah....you have doubted I am female, yesterday you insinuated I had more than one account here....will that do to be going on with?

You have the wrong person i think. I`m not prone to "insinuating" things. I`ll go check my posts from yesterday .Some one is taking the piss.

I have the right person.
Petty insults don't bother me....they are certainly not classed as hate speech or bullying, which is what this thread was highlighting.

I have no intention of trawling back through old threads finding your insults....if you forget what you say to people that's your problem not mine.

However, yesterday, because you couldn't see the post I had made you said..".I never saw any reply from you ,unless you have another name tooo ?"

You started the thread, so you should remember.

Im just waiting for someone to define what "Hate" actually is.

Until we have a proper legal definition, then it's simply subjective.

One could define whatever desire's as hateful, without evidence, but by opinion.
That is the law in the UK right now.

If I had a preferred pronoun and you didnt use it, is that hate speech.
If i identified as a particular phenotype (the real word for differences in us humans ffs) and it was not respected?
I identify as an Attack helicopter on any form that asks me, is that hateful or just my love of the AH64.
Or is it simply people want to cause sh**, or feel important?

I'm sorry, I just believe MLK when he had a dream.. although I cant quote the speech as it contains racial slurs.
How sad have we got.

That's the thing, isn't it?
What is classed as 'hate speech' and by whom?

Do people take offence much more easily now? Could an interpretation of an innocent remark be branded racist/sexist homophobic when no offence was intended?

Boundaries are much tighter drawn now than they used to be in regard to what people can say and what they can't.
Could this be a backlash to that? and if so, where better than to spout hate speech in the safety of hiding behind an anonymous username?

Hate speech is defined by the Cambridge Dictionary as "public speech that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation".

Hate speech is "usually thought to include communications of animosity or disparagement of an individual or a group on account of a group characteristic such as race, colour, national origin, sex, disability, religion, or sexual orientation".

A legal definition of hate speech varies from country to country. - via WP

It can also depend on who is saying what to whom on whether it's considered to be hate speech.
For eg, gay people may talk to each other in a language that they would find offensive if a non gay person spoke to them in the same way....same with black people.

Legally would someone calling me a fat arsed b**** be considered as hate speech....or if it was said by a black man to a black woman ...would it be a compliment?

It's not all black and white.

The average internet user owns a basic computer system, millions of 'cheap' units, usually with Windows 10 and all with similar hardware and software packages. Some are more advanced but essentially all fulfil the same role for the average internet user. Someone with more technical knowledge may well take extra precautions to ensure it is difficult to monitor their use.

The technology already exists to track and trace the average internet user in the here and now and include exactly what they type and the precise time and date they type it and with the right investment could be rolled out universally. Ask yourself why these giant corporations are not already committing a relatively modest investment to clamp down on hate speech and especially when you take into account the billions they are raking in.

The internet has ALREADY been politiZed and this isn't a recent phenomenon. The Facebook giant was recently exposed by a whistleblower for abusing its own disciplinary procedure to disproportionally clampdown and silence dissenting voices on the left-wing of the political spectrum in direct comparison to the right. The recent whistleblowing episode also revealed that Facebook algorithms are specifically designed to promote divisive content. Divisive content drives up traffic, increased traffic increases Ad revenue, etc.

The fabled myth that the internet is the last champion of free speech is just that, complete and utter bullshit. Looking at the bigger picture and all the internet giants without exception abuse the private information they collect 24/7 and treat their customers as cattle to be exploited, whether it be as a cash cow or for more covert political purposes.

Of course, it is more complex, but why on earth would the tory regime (or any other regime) introduce hate speech legislation, that hasn't been watered down and that will also prevent political parties from spamming fake adverts, targetting the opposition, on the eve of elections that was demonstrably the difference between winning or losing in those particularly targetted constituencies.

Speaking of Facebook.

By Marianna Spring
Specialist disinformation reporter, BBC News

I'm the BBC's first specialist disinformation reporter - and I receive abusive messages on social media daily. Most are too offensive to share unedited. The trigger? My coverage of the impact of online conspiracies and fake news. I expect to be challenged and criticised - but misogynistic hate directed at me has become a very regular occurrence.
Messages are laden with slurs based on gender, and references to rape, beheading and sexual acts. Some are a mish-mash of conspiracy theories - that I'm "Zionist-controlled", that I, myself, am responsible for raping babies. The C-word and F-word are repeatedly used.
Social media companies say they take online hate against women seriously - and they have rules to protect users from abuse. These include suspending, restricting or even shutting down accounts sending hate.
But my experience suggests they often don't.
I reported some of the worst messages I've ever received - including threats to come to my house to rape me and commit horrific sexual acts - to Facebook when I received them. But months later, the account remained on Facebook, along with dozens of other Instagram and Twitter accounts sending me abuse.

The list of hate crimes may be getting updated...
Ridiculing someone as 'fat', or 'appearance-based discrimination' could become a hate crime. I fully expect the abuse of someone because of their class could be next on the hate crime list

The difference between an insult and a comment, deemed a hate crime, is obviously confusing.
I have never, in my opinion, been the target of any hate speech online...but I have been called every 'put down' insult that outspoken women receive online (by both men and women) for years.

Maybe some people need to grow a thicker skin.

But then this survey is carried out from an anti bullying charity dedicated to stop the bullying of children, and young vulnerable adults, so they are coming from a different angle.

I had never heard of a M.A.P. I cant say I'm surprised there is now a label for people attracted to minors but fall short of acting on that attraction.
There seems to be a label for everything and everyone now.
Whether it should be something to celebrate is doubtful....wont that make it seem more normal?
It really isn't.

Hate speech: public speech that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation.

They are the crux of the matter.

It's not name calling.

There is nothing confusing in those terms.

And

Hate crime: Is a crime motivated by hate for a race, gender, religion, etc. - (OED)

I can save you time . You WONT find any insults that`s why you don`t want to trawl back through the pages. You`re much happier trolling me than dealing with the Thread.

Attention seeking serial troll brings his abuse and neediness into every thread in a chatroom forum by turning the OP's into a 'me-me-me' orgy fest of self important drama.
