Adults watching porn has no bearing on this thread what so ever ,

This is about young children being influenced by games and movies and if it effects their personality or beliefs and decisions ,

Fmlm.
There`s an old saying here ..."Like Father, like son" .Figure out what it means ?.

Example :- when i was young( many Moons ago !) children never swore in front of "grown ups" ,even if we did know the words. Then though ,parents didn`t swear in front of their children . Now it`s commonplace for parents to use foul language in front and at their kids . Hence they go out and use that bad language in front of anyone ;it`s become the normal. Is it Cinema & online games where they get it from ?.

Out of interest what ages are you talking about with regard to "being influenced " by these games and TV?

As much as I hate to agree with you, you are spot on with that comment.

It’s called Respect, and to many parents have none so don’t teach it to their kids.

I just don't see the relevance of it.

I read an interesting article fairly recently although I can't recall where or the link. Apparently, around 3 out of 4 female prisoners suffered a significant concussive head injury prior to offending and 89% in the study stated this was caused by domestic violence. This happened mostly in deprived areas and a large % of the men involved had been exposed to domestic violence in their own childhoods which led to their offending cycle. Suggesting both men and women exposed to violence in their childhood are more likely to become violent offenders and suggesting head injuries also play a major role.

There is also a lot to be said for repeated cycles of learned behavior and like Hell said "like father like son" (and not aimed at individuals rather in general). Do video games cause this kind of behavior, I doubt it. Do they reinforce patterns of thought or behavior that previously existed, some probably do. Are parents really responsible for the outside influences their children are exposed to when technology is the norm nowadays and information is readily available at the single click of a button?

I don't agree with you. The middle classes don't give a toss about swearing whereas the working class does. I grew up in working-class areas with middle-class friends and their parents swore like troopers and didn't care if their children had a glass of wine with their "dinner" etc.

That’s your experience. Whereas, you only have to walk around Lidl and see the way some ‘working class’ or those who obviously never worked, speak to their 7 kids.

Someone doesn't understand what the "working" class means and seems completely oblivious that the middle classes all shop in Lidl and Aldi these days...

Sorry mate . I didn`t mean to confuse you. I was merely trying to state that children can be influenced the same as adults of most ages can be influenced. I personally think ,that teenagers are more influenced by their friends than by any online games they might play. Then i think about that and come to the conclusion that their parents are influenced by other parents ! In the case of influence on parents it`s another old saying known as "keeping up with the Jones`s " Did you hear of that one ?.
I still stick to my original theory that violent people ,children or adults ,have a faulty Gene or something like that. Thank goodness they`re in a minority.

Without wishing to get bogged down with "working class" or "middle class" ideals, the most lenient are the upper class which most "middle class" (?) want to be . Upper classes always swore and their kids drink wine at dinner ,so to try and emulate them they copy !. Whoever wrote that Middle classes shop at Aldi & Lidl is right ! they are trying to save money/get rich so they can call themselves "upper class" :D.
We have 3 children ,all grown up now . Just one of my girls ! swears with her kids and they all drink wine in the home as is said. My son has never sworn in public ,my other daughter very occasionally swears but not in front of her children or her parents. My wife & I have never used bad language in front of the children and don`t intend to. If my "sweary" daughter uses it to her Mom then my Wife quickly tells her off ! I must admit i think she`s adopted it from her partner who is a Black Country origin. Having said all that they are all lovely people without any inborn violence.
My nephew is similar .Swears at his children and he has 3 girls. If i think of it though ,his Dad ( my broth in law) swore at my nephew the same and still does . It`s all part of the way of life today.
Bad language isn`t being violent though but it demonstrates how lack of decent manners /upbringing ,whether working class or pretend middle class does lead to lower standards.
Now i`ve run out of time !! hahaa fk it :D

Hell..
Kids respond to one thing, attention, if parents don't give it, they will find it else ware, its pretty simple.
Be that Facebook, Xbox or whatever demeans their character.
Let them be who they are, but your job, relationship is never more important than your kids ffs..
You brought them into this world you selfish bastards, take responsibility for that.

I`m more worried about the violent behavour in older adults ! One thing could control that ;keep the lockdown on pubs :)..Alcohol & drugs are the most controlling influence on adults ,which in turn is passed down to their kids and so on.
