So...

"Support Gay Marriage"

Has now been sexualized and turned into a direct comparison with 'I won't make dick cakes' or any other 'smutty cake' come to that.

It's a common theme as anyone familiar with the scene will know.

That gay marriage is somehow "dirty" and "smutty".

The comparison was against refusing service, not suggesting gay marriage is somehow “dirty” and “smutty”!

I am very familiar with the scene.

Money before morals that’s an interesting perspective.

I think you should be able to say no to providing any service, providing you’re not a dick about it. If your views/beliefs are against something saying politely I am unable to assist you is fine - going on about your thoughts and opinions while saying no isn’t.

As I mentioned above I’ve refused many graphic cake orders; from natural birth cakes (I mean why!!!) to penis cakes, I don’t have anything against either subject lol;
People put morals over money all the time and then justify it to themselves later, ive done it loads of times, ive never pretended to be a paragon of virtue but putting that aside, im quite disappointed you never fulfilled the order of dong shaped cakes, id have happily whipped up a phallus shaped victoria sponge or a black forest gateaux in the shape of a heaving bosom - ive got no shame

"If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

"Leviticus 20:1

Even though we took your money and gave you a delivery date piss off because we won't make you a cake because we are Christians, we do not believe in gay marriage and we will not make you a cake supporting gay marriage.

Religion drives homophobia and has ingrained it deeply in the public psyche and has spent 2,000 years doing it.

Unconscious bias is a thing, even among the righteous.

What sort of country do we live in, in 2022, when a man can't even buy a cake asking for support for gay marriage for a private function marking the International Day Against Homophobia and the immediate response of commentators is to compare it with a dick pic...

You try asking a Muslim butcher to sell you bacon, see how that goes for you.
i knew a farmer on the outskirts of bradford who sold lamb and chicken to quite a few muslims on the sly with no fks given about it being halal

Surely anyone who would is entitled to their opinion? Be it right or wrong.
Having an opinion, and producing cakes with homophobic messages written on the top, which is what you said earlier...are two different things.

Has now been sexualized and turned into a direct comparison with 'I won't make dick cakes' or any other 'smutty cake' come to that.

I dont think it's anything to do with gay marriage being compared to dick cakes or smut.
I think, especially in religious older people, it's very hard to suddenly denounce everything you have been taught since childhood. Not that long ago marriage was only recognised between a man and a woman.
It's not hard to see that some people would find that hard to actively promote it by baking cakes.

Times have changed so much in the last few decades.

Apparently PMing someone.
He did pm someone....me.
That wasn't a problem. There is a pm facility on this forum that anyone can use....and the recipient has the option to reply or ignore.

What he is accused of, and it is plain to see on several threads over the last few weeks, is that, because he was ignored, he has taken it upon himself to attempt to harass and insult me on the forum, making personal remarks about me and my family, totally unrelated to anything under discussion.

I for one, and obviously other women on here, wont be bullied by online creeps, which unfortunately, ends up with him getting ever more frustrated, and sadly....decent threads going right off topic.
So, hopefully, once more....back to gay cakes.
