Sometimes it takes many voices to call attention to the wrongs people do.
Actually, I can't stand people who look the other way when something wrong is happening, the old....'I'm not getting involved, it's not my fight' mentality.

No, but I think if you pick your fights carefully, you possibly win quicker...and you don't alienate as many people as you go.

Why should they pick their fights carefully for an issue that exists in the here and now, iot is one and the same thing, religious-driven bigotry.

NIMBY middle-class liberals never have that thrown at them when they protest and so why does the LGBT community?

Alienate people who are fair-minded but sense an agenda.
The BLM movement, or more to the point the trouble causers who attached themselves to the BLM movement, caused more harm than good.
I'm not comparing the two movements, just giving an example of how NOT to rally support.

As other more recent debacles have demonstrated one man's idea of "fair-minded" is not another's. There is no solution, there is no compromise. These people will not budge an inch will not give a quarter and will not accept what is written on the end of their nose.

This imaginary scenario where "most" people are reasonable. If they are reasonable then why does it piss them off so much what other people protest about?

I also have no idea why you have included the BLM movement, I am curious, why didn't you choose the "Insulate Your Home" protests which are still ongoing, and who have caused far more damage to "normal" people?

I could have compared this to the 'Insulate your Home' protests, I have strong feelings about that too.

I don't believe that the majority of people who fight for their rights, whatever they may be, have a hidden agenda....just some of them. Especially the ones who drone on about it in the news, complete with pics of their cake .......for 8 years.
THEN it becomes more of an agenda driven, self entitled, demand to be seen, yet never seeing the others point of view.

Who are you, I, or anyone to judge whether other people have a hidden agenda or not in the context, you don't get round to explaining what the actual mysterious "hidden agenda" is but somehow there must be one because well it's 'just' the BLM movement or the LGBT community and it's not like it is a proper protest groups...

"Demanding to be seen" for 8 years is not a "hidden agenda" and NOT the fault of the gay couple, it's the damn fault of the legal system that is clogged up after 12 years of austerity.

SWAMPY, for those who recall him in the 90s, was also considered to be a loony tune after he was arrested on multiple occasions when he took direct action and protested in support of the environment. Exactly the same finger waggers, the same luvvies back then, called him an "attention seeker" with a hidden agenda. The MSM also presented him as a scrounging hippy who just loved being in the limelight and who should go get a job.

Nowadays he is well respected both within the movement and outside and because anyone with a brain in their head knows exactly what "environmentalism" stands for today. SWAMPY still protests and guess what, nowadays even the police respect him and no longer give him a good hiding with their batons in the back of a police wagon.

Isn't it ironic how yesterday's loony tunes are today's heroes?
