I watched some of the W series motor racing on Channel4 yesterday. Women driving identical cars. I'm not sure how high the standard of racing is (3 of them stalled on the starting grid ). It was very processional (Is that the correct word? WP would know), very orderly with little overtaking, I doubt if I'd watch it again.

After the football (hurray!) we all ended up watching the British touring car championship at Brands Hatch on ITV. It was held on the short Indy circuit. Now, it's not exactly an oval and the speeds were nowhere near as high, but it's the closest we can get to Nascar here in the UK, worth a look. . .

For me the best of all time is Jim Clark
put him in anything from a cortina touring car to his lotus F1 car and he'd win.
Yes he didn't win as many titles as Fangio, Schumacher and Hamilton (among others) but for pure driving style, car management and consistency you cant look at anyone else.

I also prefer BTCC and WRC over any other car based motorsport
in terms of bikes I prefer Superbikes over GP

Agree totally. Jim Clark's heyday was before my time, but from what I've read and watched - he was the tops. A gentleman farmer, who raced in all types of motor sport, anywhere, anytime...

Those WRC guys are next level , i respect them fully but i just like Racing to much on the track rather than times intervals ,

I watched a Vid on You Tube - Superbike v Moto Gp Bike and TBH it was no contest ,

The Moto Gp bikes were way quicker ,

I think the British Superbikes are more fun to watch than the World Superbikes ?

I admire Valentino so much ,

I am also enjoying watching Marc Marquez return from terrible injuries whilst struggling on his Repsol Honda ,

HRC are really struggling.

thats the thing superbikes are production based bikes where as motogp are prototype bikes that will never be sold in the same kind of numbers as production based race bikes.

Yes I am aware they are pretty much road bikes tuned ,
Fed up of Rea and the green bikes dominating with obvious extra power ,

Moto Gp is like F1 , the pinnacle ,

Ppl still buy road bikes because of their Moto Gp heroes :)

I've often wondered why Valentino Rossi continues to race in MotoGP?
It should be about winning and not the money, i personally think he should go into management now.
Is it only me who thinks he's too old to go on for much longer?.....

Remember when he ran over the head of Marco Simonchelli with Edwards killing him outright
Was a total accident but broke him he's never been the same since ,

Hes such a great guy and an icon ..

He was nearly killed this year as a flying bike missed him by inches

I adore Valentino he's a true hero of Motorsport x

I remember the flying bike incident well.

If either was a fraction of a second faster we'd still be mourning him today.
