This version of me by Dell MacTaighain

I got here
by my ugly face
I got battered down a lot
Would I change that?
With a Time machine
nah, life's like that

Each to their own
their selected personal pronouns
Every breath is banging, fire
Precious and focused

This is this version of me

A diamond with facets
Shaped over time
movable memories
shifted into places

I crafted moments
for 58 years
This version of me
Has collected tears
both good and bad

You?
That's your problem
and success
We had equal air

Fantastic, the honesty shines. I lost a phone, found death, a desire to get my kill back tonight it is all so fucked up and amusing! I know all I yearn for in the morn is to forget. I was Reed, I was Burton, I was Harris, I was O'Toole. Of all 4, I drank them under the table and I was the
greatest fool. x

“I actually got mugged in Limerick. That’s the place by the way – not the style. I don’t mean someone came up to me and went: ‘I’m a limerick man called Pete, and I’m standing in the street, don’t be rash, give me your cash or I’ll kick you in the teeth.'”

I'm having a bad day and my spirits, they are low, My humour's at rock bottom, and I just don't want to know, And the thing that is responsible for this mood of bleak despair, …. Is that I did discover, ….. my first grey pubic hair.

have a list of folks I know, all written in a book
And every time I come in here, I go and take a look,

And that is when I realize that these names are a part
Not of the list they are written on, but really from my heart

For each name is someone who has crossed my path sometime, And in the meeting they've become the rhythm in each rhyme

And while it sounds fantastic for me to make this claim,
I really feel that I'm composed of each remembered name

And while you may not be aware of any special link
Just meeting you has changed my life a lot more than you think

For once I've met somebody, the years cannot erase
The memory of a pleasant word or of a friendly face

So never think my posts to you are just a mere routine
Of names upon a whose here list, forgotten in between,

For when I send a post that is addressed to you,
It is because you're on the list that I'm indebted to

For I am but a total of the many folks I've met,
And you happen to be one of those I prefer not to forget

And whether I have known you for many years or few,
In some ways you have a part in shaping things I do

and if you all believe all this your very very sad

Struggle by Dell Mactaighain

Beneath beauty lies destruction
Paint that idea on your face
disguise who you are beneath that mask
they wont decorate your last task

When I awake
dangerous thoughts
I see my day before i get out of bed
How can I stop the waking
How can I stop the daily day same aching

The soft underbelly of life
never tickled and illegal
End it or find a new trick
Life's new ad, totally slick
Cyclical and cynical

My feet are my eyes
and they've walked miles
The heaviness of choice
of perhaps the next town
the grass will be greener
and i'll be leaner

But life doesn't design death
shfting shadows of light and dark in a dance
between Destruction and Creation
I perform like a puppet dance for both

My choice to end the play
Is my choice
and i'm sorry how that makes you feel
but it was never about you
Wish me well
Time is on both our sides
It was my seeing that stopped my feet
Life isn't that special
Artificial
When possibility is a secluded street

The Sonic crater by Dell MacTaighain

I started breathing from an early age
you started breathing from an early age
Isn't that a ground for discussion?
We experienced different narratives along the way
Tell me of yours?
Let us seek commonality
Let us find similarity
Let us exchange what we both know
and the other doesn't
Let us both grow
from each others ignorance

I think modern drugs are wonderful
Don't you? After all, they enable a wife with pneumonia
To nurse her husband through man flu

Creating Haiku
Is harder than it appears
This may take a while.

Hallelujah by morons by Banished Monkey

Writing and books

Songs and music

Are not an answer to This life

They are a portal

To where you Could be

Here

Today

If we use imagination

As an engine

For self change

If you don’t believe

Watch me rust and wrinkle

As I turn to non-existent death

Learn from my entropy and grins

And my demise and disappearance

I didn't die from me

I am no longer here because of you

and the lack

American dozens: remembered curses from the playground – by Katherine Dunn

your mother is probably the only one you’ve ever known
who really wanted to kill you
and your mother stopped cars on sunset boulevard
by the length of her legs and the magyar in her cheekbones
though she claimed it was just good posture

and your mother married five handsome men
but swore she only did it for the money
and your mother made ships out of pine cones
and guns out of milk cans
and no human male was calm within fifty feet of her

and your mother told wild stories at the dinner table
till you were cramped and leaking with laughter
she said stalin died from eating two whole chickens all by himself
but she ate only wings and necks and the pope’s nose

and your mother called you ‘dove’ or ‘childy’ and broke your nose
and put your baby brother in the hospital with a fractured pelvis
and your mother dragged you through bean fields and dreams
and turned the hose on bill collectors

and your mother could curse
and your mother stole proudly saying “it’s not dishonest, it’s resourceful!”
and your mother the teetotaler
ran a desoto full of booze into dry counties to buy christmas toys

and your mother ran a red light in a strange town and got the arresting officer
to pay her rent
and your mother fed you, all one winter
by drawing portraits of albert schwietzer with black crayons on old pillowcases
and selling them to suckers

and your mother forgot toothbrushes but taught you to make slingshots
and keep your distance in a fight
and your mother didn’t really care if you went to school
but she told you you were god and rubbed your face
in raw beauty three times a day

and your mother knew if you got hurt even across town
but it never worried her
and your mother made pie out of one saltine and a raisin
and your mother singed her eyebrows scooping you from a fire some claim she set
and drew them on with maybelline forever after

and your mother ran off with a new man and did her best to leave you behind
but you hitchhiked after her
and your mother wore you out with switches, broom handles, belts
and her paralyzing tongue
then snatched your ass from the draft board and hid you for a whole war

and your mother sliced off the top of your skull with her terrible love
and poured in the charred sludge of hate
and there was never a dull moment

and your mother suspects you of plotting against her
and she’s right
loved the 'and' - always tickles me how poets find repetition unintruiging - i love it love it (doesnt it mean something when you have to say it twice?)

I feel like snap, crackle, pop
I wish my age would just stop.

I bend down and my knees do snap
Makes me feel like my legs will flap
Then my arthritis makes me crackle
I wonder what next I can tackle
And if I turn too fast I hear “pop”
My neck makes this noise like an old mop.

But let me tell you it’s okay
A snap, a crackle, a pop, lets me know I am not decay
There is still some life in these old bones
I won't waste it with complaints and groans
And I am not going to shrivel up and die
If someone asks my age I will just lie!

The Tale Of Wanny Morgan

This is the tale of Wanny Morgan,
Who had a tiny sexual organ,
This caused Our Wanny with lots of grief
Whenever he saw his rationed beef
But how his pals were fill with glee
Whenever he sat down to pee

One day Our Wan, he saw an ad
That said that falsies could be had
For women who had tiny breasts
They shoved these things inside their vests
And then went out in latest fashions
To satisfy man's sexual passions.

Our Wan he thought "I am no fool,
Why don't I make my own false tool?"
He worked all night, just like a badger
And soon produced his outsized target.

T'was one foot long and made of wood
And just the same size when it stood,
It really was a lovely job and
On the end he carved a big red knob.

He tied it on with lots of twine
And really it looked rather fine,
And snuggled there beneath his pants,
Looked rather like an elephant's.

The girls received Our Wan with glee
And dreamed of sitting on his knee
No fellow stood the slightest chance
When Wan appeared at any dance.

But what a shock fate had in store
One night whilst dancing round the floor
Our Wan. he mouthed an awful curse
For he could feel the twine had burst.

Before he'd reached the nearest seat,
His tool was hanging at his feet
A girl named Sue made Our Wan sick
When she gave his tool a spiteful kick.
Poor Wan's screams echoed round the hall,
For the string was tied around his balls.

Need I describe the scene thereafter
The wise cracks and the scornful laughter
Theses beauties he had often dated
Now stared at him with pants deflated.
Then the band struck up that final song
"Get Along Little Cocky, Get Along".

So, if there are any like Wanny Morgan
Who have a tiny sexual organ
Remember, though it's just a wee yin
It's always good enough for peein'

COWARDS

Those bullies are cowards everyone knows
Pick on the hopeless to put on their shows
To friends who support them and even laugh
You're just as bad to follow their foul path.

Hitting a woman as hard as you can
Proves to the whole world you're not a good man
Taking control and ruining her life
Might make her your slave but no way your wife.

Kicking a dog hard and hurting a cat
Again you're a coward for doing that
A man doesn't do the things that you do
You're just a bully that we all see through.

If rape and murder are things that you do
The hardest prison is too good for you
We should inject disease without a cure
So all your evil crimes you will pay for.

And all the victims whom you leave behind
Will live in fear till the end of their time
Rehabillitate, really? What's that worth?
You're a bully, a coward, the scrum of the earth!
