You asked where the money was going.

I will add to this and say every person who arrives on a small boat costs 10K to process. Then another 30-60k per year to house and feed. 45,000 arrived in 2022-23 and more this year.

That's where our money is going !!!!
You’ve spectacularly missed my point.
Rich countries’ monies are in the billions / trillions.
Where is this money?

That's an easy one.

We spend:

£30-45 billion to leave the EU
1% of GDP goes on immigrations costs.
2.3% of GDP goes on defense.

Our money comes from:

Taxes
Services industries
Manufacturing
Natural resources
Tourism

Natural resources is the biggest one for us. Oil, gas, coal and metals. Wool was the biggest one for thousand years.

I've never really given it much thought, I don't think anyone here really does.
No one feels rich here......the reverse. The cost of living in the UK is out of control.
Our taxation is high, our public services are in the toilet and our health care system is a mess.

Lets say you make £1000 in a week, after all taxes and mandatory pension contributions its down £500. You still have to try and live on that. Say £100 per week on a room in a share house, another £50 on bills, £50 on food and £50 on public transport just to get to work.... you end up with about £250 from that £1000.

Would you feel rich working a 60 hour week for a net of £250 per week?

For not having given it much thought you sure have plenty to say about it.
You’re still missing the point posting stuff like this.

The point I'm trying to make is:

After UK left the UK wages started to rise again for low skilled workers and these are the jobs immigrant's do mostly. But they wont carry on rising if the numbers of overseas workers still flood in: supply and demand.

Well you did ask where was the money?

If you brought a house in 1996 for 40k, that same house is worth 400-500k now. If you rented that house out at £100 per room each week you'd make £300 less tax on a 3 bed house. The demand on housing is so high prices have gone thru the roof since 2002.

Lets say I open up a small cafe, sold tea and crumpets in this house.... I will paid less in staff wages in real terms than 1998.

So the money is selling crap to each other and renting out homes to the young people who cant afford anything better.

All this stuff is loose change compared with the monies involved in the overall economy.
You’re not thinking at the correct level.

Racism to white people is institutionally allowed if you live in the UK where diversity training officers will openly discriminate against you together with MI5 not recruiting white citizens. Labour has backed the idea of teaching children about the paradigm of whiteness where £130,000 of taxpayers money is being spent to discriminate against white people in Libraries, Schools and Universities. The Labour Party is complicit in racism for this scheme rotting peoples brains.

Maybe the post I answered to wasn't racist cos I know not everyone heard the announcement but If you're insisting on calling a Cornish person English then that is racist, in fact we're Celts. I could even type that in my own Celtic language if I so wished. You can blame the selective English history system for this not being taught.

And in case you missed it heres the announcement Cornish granted minority status within the UK - Free Chat Rooms
But Cornwall is part of England, so I don't know what difference your "minority status" makes. I'm sure we could all find a minority we belong to if we look hard enough. It's a load of arbitrary nonsense.

People in Cornwall never leave. I'm not talking about the next town, I'm talking about the next house.
I meet one who hadn't gone more than 2 miles in the last 30 years. I cant think of any where else like that.

Sometimes people will be punished for doing the right thing. Sometimes that lasts a lifetime or longer. This is the thing about this system.

Nonetheless, it is correct to do the right thing.
