If labour win in July they cant change current government policy for min of 18-24 months. The government is like an oil tanker, it takes a while to slow down and turn around. Even if they bring in a new budget... it wont take effect until Apr 2025.

Let's talk about what happens if the UK is attacked.

First of all we go back to the old system of concentration camps.... I mean interment camps. Any group that seen as suspect or comes under suspicion will be detained without trial. The general public will take revenge on any group seen as helping the "enemy".

It won't be a good time to be black, Asian or from the EU.

All welfare programs will be cut, unemployment benefit and sickness benefit that will go in a matter of weeks. The money saved will be used to pay for the war.

All nonessential medical treatment will be stopped. The UK's stockpile of medication will soon dry up and imports will be limited.

Social media will be shut down and even emails will start being censored. UK's broadband service will be "limited" to help with this.

Mobile phones will basically go off and freedom of movement will end. If you leave your local area without permission you will be "interned".

And this gets a lot worse if enemy troops land in the UK.

Opinion: Bringing back national service is a brilliant idea now that I’m too old to have to do it myself.​

As the general election campaign heats up and the government announces its plan to reintroduce National Service, it is vital that we ensure people younger than myself realise their responsibilities as citizens.

It would be a privilege for the young to serve their nation through compulsory National Service, because compared to my generation, they are immoral and lazy.

National Service could be military or civilian. When I was young, I would have jumped at the chance of getting up at 6am to be shot at, or to wipe old people’s arses. Unfortunately, as a youth, I had to settle for snorting loads of gak in warehouse parties and a job in an office where nobody much cared what I did.

Today’s kids lack the discipline and work ethic of my generation. Instead, they hang around in bus stations and outside Subway, making me feel uncomfortable and a bit scared – when they could be enjoying the chance of manning the Estonian border in case Vladimir Putin decides to have a go.

To ensure the widest possible field of candidates, I’d suggest extending the cut-off date beyond 18-year-olds to my last birthday. As many people even just slightly younger than me could also benefit from the short, sharp shock of discipline which being required to work for their nation would bring.

This got to be the most worrying statement I have seen since I was a kid. For those of you who aren't smart enough to work out what's going on.... it's part of "war fever" that seems to be spreading across Europe and NATO.

Right now they're only talking 18 year old's but that will soon change to anyone under the age of 30. Is the first stage in sending all kids off to protect Poland or Turkey. Before you will go on about the fact that we need to stop Russia just think about the numbers of Ukrainians we took in avoiding their own draft.

The idea that we have to pay to defend these countries and sacrifice our young people is unacceptable. It's not our war !
