I well remember my six year old daughters face when a nurse told her "Eeee, y'ere a bonny wee lassie" (smiles) ... she was of course, with her strawberry red hair and black eyes ... but she'd never heard that language before!

The pic confirms how much the Scottish struggle with English, presuming it was an illiterate Caledonian who devised it, that is.
Just in case you were not aware: the sign should read, 'shite off', NOT 'shite of'.
Expectedly, Tesco's motto prevails - "Every Little Helps".
