The rays of the moon must pass over your bed
If you don't want to die from a cold in the head
Oh dazzling moon that shines its beam
across the oak trees of North Cheam
I'm very pleased to see your light
coming out tomorrow night?
Oh to be a Chestnut tree nourished by the sun
with twigs an leaves and conkers by the tonne. :)

"The Soldier"
by Rupert Brooke

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there’s some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,
A body of England’s, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.

And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

I am a soldier in the army of my God.
The Lord Jesus Christ is my Commanding Officer.
The Holy Scripture is my code of conduct.
Faith, prayer and the Word are my weapons of warfare.

I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience,
tried by adversity and tested by fire.

I am a volunteer in this army, and I am enlisted for eternity.
I will not get out, sell out, be talked out or pushed out.
I am faithful, reliable, capable and dependable.
If my God needs me, I am there. I am a soldier.

I am not a baby. I do not need to be pampered, petted,
primed up, pumped up, picked up, or pepped up. I am a soldier.
No one has to call me, remind me, write me, visit me, entice me or lure me.
I am a soldier. I am not a wimp. I am in place, saluting my King,
obeying His orders, praising His name and building His kingdom!
No one has to send me flowers, gifts, food, cards or candy, or give
me handouts. I do not need to be cuddled, cradled, cared for or
catered to. I am committed. I cannot have my feelings hurt bad
enough to turn me around. I cannot be discouraged enough to
turn me aside. I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit.

When Jesus called me into this army, I had nothing. If I end up with nothing,
I will still come out ahead. I will win. My God has and will continue to supply all of my need.
I am more than a conqueror. I will always triumph. I can do all things through Christ.
The devil cannot defeat me. People cannot disillusion me. Weather cannot weary me.
Sickness cannot stop me. Battles cannot beat me. Money cannot buy me. Governments
cannot silence me, and hell cannot handle me. I am a soldier.

Even death cannot destroy me. For when my Commander calls me from His battlefield,
He will promote me to captain and then allow me to rule with Him.
I am a soldier in the army, and I’m marching claiming victory.
I will not give up. I will not turn around.

I am a soldier, marching heaven-bound.
Here I Stand! Will you stand with me?

This beautiful piece of poetry was written in 1936, but was not discovered until 2013. It should have a place in all our Christmas celebrations to come. I hope you enjoy this powerful poem…

Grim was the world and grey last night:
The moon and stars were fled,
The hall was dark without song or light,
The fires were fallen dead.
The wind in the trees was like to the sea,
And over the mountains’ teeth
It whistled bitter-cold and free,
As a sword leapt from its sheath.
The lord of snows upreared his head;
His mantle long and pale
Upon the bitter blast was spread
And hung o’er hill and dale.
The world was blind,
the boughs were bent,
All ways and paths were wild:
Then the veil of cloud apart was rent,
And here was born a Child.
The ancient dome of heaven sheer
Was pricked with distant light;
A star came shining white and clear
Alone above the night.
In the dale of dark in that hour of birth
One voice on a sudden sang:
Then all the bells in Heaven and Earth
Together at midnight rang.
Mary sang in this world below:
They heard her song arise
O’er mist and over mountain snow
To the walls of Paradise,
And the tongue of many bells was stirred
in Heaven’s towers to ring
When the voice of mortal maid was heard,
That was mother of Heaven’s King.
Glad is the world and fair this night
With stars about its head,
And the hall is filled with laughter and light,
And fires are burning red.
The bells of Paradise now ring
With bells of Christendom,
And Gloria, Gloria we will sing
That God on earth is come.470183941_2668870409989411_3806958860600560416_n.jpg

The allure that caught and held me when we first met,
you cast your spell upon me your sweet young brunette.
your smiling words of welcome as we lovingly caressed
your sensual sweet touches as I held you to my chest.

You seemed shy and retiring as I taught you how to live
the fruits of love were yours to take and mine to freely give.
then someone else beckoned and we drifted far apart
As the gap between us widened you broke my aching heart.

but here I am now, free from your scheming guile
free from a creep with the painted plastic smile.

To thems that ask to be deleted, but stay
keep asking, one day you may find a way

If you quit the forum undetected
for the off-line life you've selected
clear your cookies leave no trace
may you then find your better place.

but If you stay in sour frustration
remember for further inspiration
Rome wasn't built in a day
try again don't delay!

Just here to tell a story
Not write essays and bore thee
Had enough of fluttering these butterfly wings
And roaring like a lion while you lot sing
Never been a one-rhyme pony
Or like many here- a multi-faced phoney
But whether I’m going out on a bullet- or a loss
I’m going out singing like a fucking boss
So here goes something…. or nothing
Just in case you thought this honest poet was bluffing!

A Stray Cat Called Rose
There once was a stray called Rose
A graceful little thing… until it came to flesh and crows
For this little kitty had claws
And none could escape from the knives in her paws
She could make a game outta love and hate
Saw kindness as a bit of bait
Yet few saw beneath the wild fur
And fewer still heard her contented purr
‘Cos more than once, she’d seen a boot
And been told to “Bugger off” and “Scoot”

Then one day, a kindly gent took some time and care
He told raging Rose, “Hey girl, you can be mine- I’ll be there”
Tickling her chin and feeding her well
He gave her a home, plus a collar with a bell
He made her a bed, with a comfy fleece
And as he worked all day, she got some peace
Then came the vet visit, when her claws got clipped
And for a moment or two, her demeanour slipped
But back in safe hands, she melted like ice
And remembered that some humans can be pretty nice!

To my Internet Friends/Fiends

**** y’all, I’m feeling the fear and doing it anyway
I guess it’s something we all have to learn one day,
Don’t give a toss whether you wanna play with old pics
And definitely not here for your promised marriage dicks
Don’t give a flying **** if you wanna scream “far right” or “fascist”
Get the correct terminology, cos that crap I’ll bloody well diss
Considering I’ve had more rainbow cock than you could imagine
I’ll assume you’re following the political fashion
Yeah, it’s true- I was a b**** sometimes
But I’ll say I’m sorry and admit my written crimes
Cos I ain’t scared to look in a mirror and see the ugly that shines
Perhaps you should do the same
I promise it won’t blind

I know my faults- I own them and they’re mine
Yep, mine to the end
Not afraid to face what I’ve done
Cos I ain’t gotta defend
Crack me with the roses in the attic puns
They just give me inspiration
I might sweat in the heat
But I’m getting used to the perspiration

You said I have more to lose
And that might be true
I love my freedom, my routines and my summer shoes
But I won’t bow to anyone-Narc, schizo or star alike
You wanna start a fire? Here’s the matches. Fucking strike!
I don’t need to be green to pull up my rhyme
Been doing this since I could read the time
And I’ll be doing it till the day I die
Cos this is me and this is how I fly
Don’t need no star man to keep me high
So drive me underground- cancel me, if you dare
Cos, honey, I don’t fucking care

These words are mine and I’ll own them
Yep, mine to the end
Not afraid to face what I’ve done
Or what I’ve said to old friends
Crack me with the dinosaur puns
Cos they ain’t me anymore
And I ain’t afraid to say sorry
Or call myself a ***
But it’s fine- show me the door

Gonna say this one last time time
Cos I’m giving up the will to rhyme
I love ya’ll- or at least I did
Then you threw me to the kid
Now just feeling a bit jaded
Next there was the competition
That I really didn’t care much for
Cos I’m unique- one of a kind
And if I’m the one, I don’t know what you’re looking for
Kept love in my heart till you run me dry
Now, I’m begging for the rain to give me a reason to fly
Cos we all need that pain- healthy or not
And I guess I like my rivers running hot

I know my reflection- I see it every fucking day
And yep, I see it getting old
But **** ya, I'm willing to carry on and play
Cos I ain’t gotta be told
Crack me with what ya wanna say
It just gives me something to write with
So hey sweetie, come along and play ;)

I enjoyed this so much that i read it twice
or even maybe, possibly thrice.
That pen of yours didn't fail to entice
For a fan you have gained through your lyrical vice.

Thank you for your praise, dear puppet, but alas, your fandom will be short
For my time here will be swift and my rhymes, I must abort

I never said farewell the last time I was in town, but this time I promise I will
I wish nothing but love and luck to all that remain, but for me it’s lost its thrill

Hugs and kisses to old friends and enemies alike
But for the good of my heart and mind, I’m getting on my bike!

Protect your heart and that luscious mind
for i hope on your travels, the Grail you do find.
Live, laugh, love and ride free,
but never forget this muppet's glee

Call it imagination- or madness
Call it the Devil- or God
But a little voice told me 'Please don't go!'
Now dear muppet, does that sound odd?

Perhaps my heart and mind can suffer
For a short while anyway!
So you're welcome to throw your pants at me
At least for another day ;)

If the price for your poetical presence
is the partaking of pant punting
i'll promptly position the quant
For what sort of puppet would i be portraying
if i wasn't postured to flaunt
Paradigms for pondering
Perceptions for plundering
Come on in, the current is swell
Parade the potentials and the palpable essentials
pleased to meet you, my name is Elle ;)
