It feels to me like they have pushed hard for everything to be electricity driven ..

This must mean a loss in fuel revenue , tax etc

Electricity will cost as much as fuel did real soon ......

Talk Talk do 6 months free broadband for eligible work seekers.
BT also do deals for those on benefits (BT Essentials).
As do various other companies.

My mate gets his mobile phone from Virgin, unlimited minutes and texts and about 5 gig internet which is plenty for browsing for £8 a month.

Hardly breaking the bank.

If your logging onto UC every day you must be a job seeker.
Talk to your advisor, ask them if you can cut back as internet access is difficult.

I did, they simply rang me every few days.
They also offered to get me a mobile and pay towards a pay as you go account, but I didnt want a mobile.
Talk to them.

I'm not a job seeker, no, even if you're in work and on UC you're still advised to log in every day. I'm very fortunate in that I'm not struggling too much, YET. The point of my post was a lot of people keep saying "well they can afford internet and a phone so they're not that hard up" which is complete and utter bullshit really, I don't understand where people get their information from because a lot of it is just completely wrong in so many ways, its like they can't see past their channel 5 poverty porn viewing.

And all for nothing. A fake climate crisis is fuelling a net-zero policy that can’t be achieved and would make no difference even if it could.
The planet's climate is constantly changing. These days, it's just convenient for some to blame Man. 10,000 years ago where i'm currently sitting, the place was covered by a sheet of ice half a mile high. Yes, the ice age. Was Man to blame for that? In time to come there will be another ice age, and there's nothing we can do about it. In my humble (uneducated) opinion, it would be better to prioritise today's problems.

My opinion is that we sack all the Scientists and replace them with members of the "Conspiracy Advisory Commity" and Experts from "ukchat":)

Climate change, like wokism, are the new religions.
Why?
Because one is not allowed to doubt them.

Our leader Boris (never a dull moment) Johnson has been a busy lad... Rwanda, Bavaria and now he's off to Madrid, he gets about, doesn't he? And still finds time to give £Billions to Ukraine. He is truly a colossus on the world stage. What about the cost of living crisis here? you may very well be asking...

What I am finding hard to work out...inflation is said to be under 10%....horrendous in itself.
So how come the overall cost of living over the last few months is a damn site more?
