There is an element of risk in posting genuine photos in profiles on here. You may not know that your next door neighbour is a member and knows what you look like ! Plus ( and this happens ) there are members who take pleasure in copying peoples photos ,cutting the face out and then pasting it onto some crude cartoon which gets circulated around the whole site . Fine if you like a laugh at yourself but maybe you don`t like the person who does this ?.
Think before you post a self photo onto your profile.

The beauty of the internet is that you can chat to people you wouldn't dream of having in your home. You can chat in complete anonymity. There's a regular user of this site who lives in my small town. Putting a genuine profile picture would put my inconspicuousness (big word!) in peril.

I felt the need to capitalise both 'Weirdos' and ' Idiots', because when you realise that it's most probably adults doing this, you realise that they are both Weirdos and Idiots of the highest order .

I've actually witnessed worse.

Some poor guy posted a pic of himself (which I believe to be genuine) on a different chatsite - Some idiot who used said chatroom, copied and pasted his pic and added it to a porn site, with details, claiming to be looking for gay sex and actually added the link where this pic was posted to said chatroom .

Pretty sad for an adult, but it doesn't surprise me, as lots who use chat rooms are dregs of humanity, with no moral compass, hence nothing to lose, because they've already lost it all.

And I'm not talking just men - some women are just as bad.

I experienced something similar with a photo of me being copied from some other Social Site ( i don`t know where ,so my guess is it could have been a PC breakin !).The head was then pasted on this site into a rather nasty cartoon with an added note about me .
At least i knew who posted it as we share a mutual dislike of each other but it took a long time for me to find out who did the "arty" photoshop. To my surprise it was a person who everyone likes and calls "very nice "? I`m afraid i can`t say the same in return. Never think that this sot of thing is only done by nasty people .

As I am tall and incredibly handsome but also an extremely humble person, it would not bother me in the slightest if my picture was exposed to the cruel world by someone I thought I knew.

I would however be most pissed off if someone I thought I knew (and trusted) passed on my personal details and phone number etc. Unfortunately, there are some disturbed individuals lurking in the online world and it is harder to gauge whether they are truly genuine or not no matter how long you may have 'known' them.

Most sites warn about handing out personal details including this one and for good reason.

If someone turns up on your doorstep with 11 suitcases, a cat, and a parrot and are gurning with no teeth, immediately close the door and ring 999.

My point was that several Social Media sites and dating sites give the option to have a profile Picture/Photo ,
