I don't really get the concept of play-offs in motor racing. Not that it matters, I just like watching them going round and round on the ovals. For me, it's therapeutic.

They have a regular season like other formats ,

The top 16 drivers go to the playoffs,
All cars still race but only the 16 can go for the championship,

"The chase for the Nascar Cup "

They will get whittled from 16 to 12 , then 8 and then 4 ,

The 4 will battle for the title in phoenix ,

A win takes you through so Denny Hamlin is in the round of 12 as he won ,

If there are not 4 different winners from the playoff 16 points will decide the round of 12 etc ....

Yup Richmond is only a Mile , Bristol night race on Sat night is even shorter but it will be mental!!

Nice to see Marc Marquez fighting back at the front after a series of nasty injuries ,

Often shadowed by the 9 titles of Mr Rossi , Marquez is an 8 time champion and is likely to add more .....

He obviously has lost no tenacity but great racing from Bagnaia under massive pressure !!!

There doesn't appear to be any reduction in speed on these smaller ovals. Quite the reverse, the smaller track appears to give the illusion that the speeds are actually increased!

Unlike Richmond last week Bristol is heavily banked , Richmond is totally flat ,

This gives you the "Bowl effect" plus the lights add that "Flash Effect"

Speeds are higher as the track is thinner to the infield allowing straights as again Richmond is more circular ,

You will enjoy this i promise you it will be a war

4 Drivers will be eliminated from the 16 after the Bristol Race then will come the round of 12 ,

Truex,Larson,Hamlin cannot be eliminated ....
