I hope you do find some friendly people on there. The problem with the busy rooms (yes I've had a sneaky peak!), are that there are so many people wanting to be heard, no one can get a word in edgeways.
The benefit of chatting on the forum, is thst you can leave a thought out response to messages, rather than instantly reacting to messages in live chat. You can receive replies to your messages, go away and think about them for a while (not too deeply), and then try and respond appropriately.

I really don't want to fall out with anyone on this forum, don't really want to get involved with the arguments and grudges. Just here for interesting conversations, and the odd laugh.

Sorry to make you aware but "interesting conversations " often hold differences of opinions ,so cant always expect nicety responses .
