Beginning sentences with 'So...'

It is getting on my WICK, this thing. More than saying 'laying' instead of 'lying' and 'I was SAT / STOOD', etc. instead of sitting or standing.

People are now beginning sentences with 'So' and it's making my teeth itch.

'Hi! Haven't seen you for ages! Where are you living now?'
'So, I moved from ... and now live in ...'

So? SO?! You moved BECAUSE I asked where you live? No? Well, don't say 'so' then!

'What are you doing for a living?'
'So, I left the job in advertising and now I just like to piss you off in conversation.'
