I'd grab the pram with one hand and the old lady with the other of course, thereby saving the day on both counts and ensuring that my Superhero status remained firmly in-tact! And anyway, assuming you were at the top of the stairs and not a dwarf, you could SEE what was in the pram anyway!

I am inclined to agree with Altair in response to this scenario.
Who the hell entrusted an old woman with pulling a pram up a flight of stairs, thereby possibly endangering a child's life, in the first place?
Secondly, why didn't someone at the foot of the stairs offer to assist the said old woman or why didn't the old woman request assistance to do so?
What an irresponsible world we live in, uh?
