I keep seeing these words come up in chat from Irish users of the site. I had to look the meaning up.



Taig

Taig is a derogatory term for an Irish Catholic. It is mainly used by sectarian loyalists in Northern Ireland and Scotland. It has been used in sectarian slogans such as "Kill All Taigs" (KAT) and "All Taigs Are Targets" (ATAT).

Tarrier ( Tar)

Derogatory term for an Irish Catholic. Origins are unknown but used in the United States as a term for Irish railroad construction workers or someone who tars the road, principle occupations for immigrants at the time following the Great Famine.

I'm not from Ireland but using these "hate words" in chat should be banned.

Its 2024 for god sake and we have all seen Derry girls. This sh** needs to end and next time I see people using these words in chat I want them banned.

It is a shame that people like to claim they're not religious, yet hold onto things from the past based on religious things. Sadly though, it isn't going to get better for now. It will only get better when religion is banned, which is going to happen. But when religion is banned, it is not that God is backing it, as he is only backing the removal of "False" religion, which will leave only two sides on which we stand in the future.

So I'm sorry that you have to see this kind of stuff, but it is showing the boneheadedness of us humans, and the fact that we're exceptionally slow learners, and easily misled. Including me. I'm no exception.

But take comfort in the future, as it is prophecied that God is going to inspire the nations to turn against religion and ban it. It will successfully remove false religion off the face of the earth, and will leave people after it on one of two sides - demonstrated by their actions and attitudes when it happens.

You expect the staff to be aware of every single hate term used throughout the world ? I may be totally wrong, but they could be of Gaelic origin, a language I'm certainly unfamiliar with. Every country has derogatory terms for other countries/people. If a clear derogatory term is reported it will be dealt with exactly how we deal with all other derogatory terms and unless you now own this site, please don't make demands that we ban chatters. That is not your call.

Only time I've ever seen those words used are up here in Scotland where sadly there is a rather large sectarian element of society and in this instance, it's Rangers supporters who use them describing Celtic supporters. But I've never seen them used on this site

I read this twice, and it genuinely makes no sense to me.

It reads like Not_Fred_Honest constant made up fairy tales that do not actually happen.

Which is why Not_Fred_Honest has no screenshots or other evidence.

Apparently, when god inspires nations to ban religion it's simply because god supports the removal of so-called false religion, and it has long been prophesised that god will do this.

Because god, the creator of all things and who supposedly gifted 'man' free-will, doesn't possess the divine power to simply man/woman-up and do it him/her self, right?

Because god would rather do exactly what the OP complains about, create division based on religious lines, with punishment for those who do not conform.

He/she would rather interfere and manipulate his own creations, that he gave free-will to, to do it on his/her behalf?

Then, once this has been achieved, it will leave people on two sides only, those who support true religion and those who don't, and if I have got the gist correct, no longer will there be divisions among 'man' stirred by religious bigotry.

Unless you continue to practice a faith that has been banned by nations inspired by god to ban, there is that?

Because a religious ideology can be banned by nations on god's behalf, right?

Or, since you are now atheist, you will be punished accordingly by the rules set by god and god's true followers.

Who gave 'man' free-will to choose for himself.

So long as he/she chooses the right side.
