In other words, she tried taking the piss, believing that she was a 'big shot' because her husband is a Tory councillor, well, she isn't laughing now, is she.

Btw, serving 40% of a 31-month sentence is not "years" in jail, and she got off lightly compared to some other rioters.

Let's say you mean your local MP. You through wot a fat lazy lardass ***.

You could now face jail time and serve 40% of your sentence for posting a comment like that online.

Now, imagine the same MP downloads child pornography. They still face trial, but they won’t end up in jail.

Now, imagine the same MP commits rape. They go to court and be convicted, but because of lenient sentencing policies, they serve less time in jail than someone who posted a harsh comment about them online.

It’s clear that those in power, with wealth, or in the public eye haven’t stopped committing crimes like rape or child abuse, even after the scandals of the past 20 years. They’re just working to ensure that, if convicted, they won’t end up in jail for it.

And anyone who criticizes them for it will.

Say the government is running a campaign to get people to lose weight. This statement fits their policy and nothing happens to you.

Now lets say Lord Singina Burger who owns a company making lard and regular donates to the ruling party don't like it. You go to jail.

Punishment by the courts depends on who in government and what laws they decide to enforce.
