Huh?.... they wont need as many ground stations after the laser links are in place. ? They are going to need a continuing growing number of ground stations. ! The laser links will allow them to work in places were there aren't local ground stations but the fact is they are going to require a growing number of ground stations to keep the loads on the sat network low.

The laser links main usefulness is to cover an area where there aren't ground stations....or for specialized uses like fast track to the stock exchanges.!

The laser links will limit the total overall bandwidth that can be used that will be fine in places were there aren't a ton of users like the poles or the middle of the ocean. ! Not so great in the Northeastern US were the population is very dense. In these areas.... they are going to have many overlapping ground stations to maximize bandwidth though the SpaceX network.!

Exactly like in the UK...The Band width will be the same...No one will know about it until it hits them. !
