It's been a while since i was here last.. Work and stuff gets in the way of me having a bit of fun online.

I see that many Forum posts have been deleted and certain members do not comment anymore.

Is it only me that sees this?

What happened?

The OP is not alone in noticing that some regs have stopped posting. I don't think it's anything sinister, chatters come and go, people move on. As long as there are new people replacing them, all will be sweetness and light on the UKChat forum :)

People have to travel through the same threads, about the same subject which can be up to three times a day by one or two... Posters here, which are boring and get no response whatsoever, people just think what is the point?

I don't think bad would just go...Then again...You just never know.

My guess he was banned for something he said and he took it badly and decided to take the huff.

His choice.

Sites choice.

Either way.. We are (Slightly) more focussed on current events and MUSIC on the Forum... So that's a good thing..

The reason forums all over the internet are dieing is it's the same people posting innane sh!t which doesnt promote discussion.
They are going full "Echo Chamber" or because people have to self censor so much these days.

Baffles me why people cant just open debates on topics they feel strongly about.
Fear?

Or is it the fact that when you post something thought provoking, you simply get labelled as "Far Right".
A term that most people dont understand as Far Right is Capitalism without state control.
National Socialism, Fascism, Communism, they are all centrally controlled by the state, hence they are socialist and the "left" politically.
However, that basic premise of philosophy cannot be uttered today as everyone who isnt a socialist is a "Fascist" or a "Nazi", which is amusing as they are the same in thier basic premise, state control.

Personal attacks are the norm for debate these days, people dont take the time to research, they simply "Feel" thier argument.

As such, we cannot offend them, as it is an attack on them personally, their feelings, rather than logical examination of data.

So sad that the West, which is so good at inventing new ideas and technology, accepts the values of the old fashoined socialist ideas of power and privilage being the only determining factors of life.

I find the most disturbing ideas are around AI.
One usually finds the people supporting it are the same ones who want "Free sh!t".
So they dont have to work, they can become poets, or artists and while away their days being unproductive asshats.
They dont think about the real consequences.

All ideologies have motives and reasons for doing or saying what they do.
The best way to shut down opposition is to make certain speech unacceptable.
To make discourse not about what is possible, but what is "morally" right, in thier view.

Historically that was done by controlling the media, such as the EU's RRM (Rapid Response Mechinism).
To ensure the media is all on the same page.
Or by involving a nations military, such as the UK's 77th Brigade, as engines to search for, and get blocked, what is deemed "Disinformation".

With AI, if one controls the algorithm, one controls the normalisation of the narrative.

In effect, by self regulating our speech, we are doing what AI would do for us given the current social and political climate.
We are subjecting ourselves to regulation that has no place in law, but only because of others "Feelings".

Anyway, it was a rant, just for fun, does it mean anything?
How weak have we become that we have lost the ability, as Oscar Wilde put it, "To play gracefully with ideas"

Video if your up to it.

We are fortunate to have moderators who prioritize impartiality, professionalism and accountability above their own egos, ensuring a healthy and productive chat room environment

Kisin is a good speaker with a defined tone to his voice. Certain people will listen to him, Certain people wont or just wont.

I've been a member of OpenAI for over 3 years. The creators of ChatGPT.

As far as I am concerned there is nothing untoward going on.

Clever folks don't condemn it... It's idle folks with nothing better to do than find fault.

All ChatGPT is, is an enhanced version of Google Search.

Why not join OPEN AI for yourself and ask ChatGPT your own question?

It's easy enough to join.

"Overall, the decision to sacrifice one life to save others is a difficult and emotionally charged one that should be made with great care and consideration for all those involved, We must balance the value of human life, the potential consequences of our actions, and the ethical and legal principles that guide our decisions".

As a direct quote.

Ethical, legal.
Difficult and Emotionally charged.

No mention of morality?
Morality and ethics are two very different things, most people tend to ignore that.

What are your thoughts on Geoffrey Hinton, the "Godfather of AI, resigning and expressing concerns over AI?

Morality and ethics are two very different things, most people tend to ignore that.
Morality is principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour.

Ethics is concerned with what is good for individuals and society.

What purpose would it serve if AI brought Morality into the question?

I don't have any. He's entitled to do what ever he sees fit for himself. We all express concerns for one thing and another.

I would argue that ethics are based on the lack of morality of the individual due to fear or complience.
I dont like the simplistic terms which we are given concerning either ethics or morality.
Ethics as guidelines, the obvious example, first do no harm.
Morality however, is different, what if ethics is harming society as a whole?

If one views the ethics of society as doing harm, then does one not have a moral imperative to make a stand against it.
There is a long history of ethical violations against humanity in the 20th century, it was only those of moral fortitude that stood against it.

Which is why I fear AI will be "Ethically" correct to whoever programs it.
Without the "Morality" of context.
