People who live in cities or towns agree with this new law. We have put up with tents in our streets, in our parks and on our beaches.
Why should local people have to pay for someone claiming to be homeless to be re- accommodated just because they pitched a tent in a park?
It can take local councils up to two weeks to evict homeless people from our public spaces and normally they only agree to move if there's an offer of accommodation that they feel is suitable for them.
For years people have been taking advantage of lax laws to jump council housing waiting lists. This new law should stop that a mean police can move these people on within hours instead of this becoming a two to three week process costing tax payers money.
