Sheep or Shephard?!

There are wolves and sheep, there are also shepard dogs.
A shepard dog is a wolf which protects the herd.
The worst one to cross is the shepard dog, because you are telling him he is wrong and that the predator is right.
Then he reverts to being a wolf.
Thats what we have today, a herd telling those who wish to protect them from harm that they are wrong.
The Shepard says "You can love me, hate me, agree or disagree with me, all I want is for you to be the best you can be."
When the sheep turn round and question whether they are sheep or not, thats a good thing, then we dont need the shepard.
They understand the wolf is at thier doorstep every day.
In todays society however, I can not only be a sheep or a wolf, I can self identify as such.
Which makes me what exactly in life?
Confused and capable of neither understanding or acceptence of reality?
