A thread i had just started was closed down by Admin after 3 short posts . Another thread ,on a similar topic ,was allowed to run for about 14 pages before the OP said they would close it themselves.
Does that suggest favouritism by any chance ?

To be clear here - we do not close threads to further comment without just reason. If they descend into utter chaos, and usually totally off from the original topic, yes we will take action. There is absolutely no favouritism whatsoever. It is always the same few that turn these threads into nothing more than a chance to exchange insults and abuse each other. Instead of trying to blame Admin, take a look at your behaviour on these Forums, and then ask yourself why action is taken. And we are under no obligation to inform anyone when we close a thread to further comment or remove a Forum thread.

I have never been one to criticise what Admin does or why - I am not here enough to really know the full story in many cases. What does really annoy me at times, though, is when I DO come here and see an interesting thread I'd like to respond to, and can't. This is because by the time I have seen it, it's usually at least 4 pages long and NOTHING to do with the original title. A discussion forum is lost on those who can't understand that some people will think differently to others and we won't ever all agree on everything. My Year 10 Set 4 even knows that to do well in an argument, you have to hold your ground, give valid support for your opinions and don't lose your sh**.

I agree, we only close threads that have turned into arguing that is nothing to do with the original post. It’s always the same children ruining threads and admin will have to continue to close them until the ridiculous stuff stops

Closed after 4 posts replies ?? non of which were too hostile btw . I call that "favouritism" against the op ( specially as it was me !). Most threads which get to the heavy stages are closed after 4 pages or even more , not 4 posts ffs !.
Also ,please note at the admin who closed that thread ,that nobody was allowed to post to it after that ...ohhh yes !! there was one ! a "like " was allowed ! ?? from the only person who posted anything which might have started an argument . explain that as "fair"please ?.

Maybe Admin know how some threads will progress, usually down hill!
Thank you for making more sense as one person than 10 others all together
