Try and say something that you thought up all by yourself, wind up merchant (sh** at it).

Like give a "definition" of "free speech". :)

'Freedom of speech is the right to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, by any means.' There ya go. I just know you're not going to agree with it though, so it must be 'wrong'.

How do you know what I will agree with or not, wind up merchant (sh** at it)?

So you support the "concept" of paedophiles, misogynists, rapists, incels, etc, openly promoting their ideology under the banner of "free speech"?

It's OK Kev. You started this whole thread because you decided to take a swipe at 'right-wingers'. So the wind-up merchant is you. I'll let you have the last word though else this will just go back and forth until you 'win'. Que sera sera.

I am simply arguing that there are many different "interpretations" of what "free speech" is against someone who claimed that there isn't.

I didn't give an opinion myself of what "free speech" means, because it means a lot of different things to different people.

Wriggle all you like now, wind up merchant (and sh** at it). :)

A local man has bravely taken a stand against the terrifying rise of tyranny by declaring literally everything he mildly dislikes as “Orwellian.”

Daytone Williams, aged 63, from Swindon, an unemployed spoon bender, reportedly used the term to describe everything from a parking fine to the new self-service checkouts at Tesco, warning friends that “the Ministry of Love probably designed those bloody card readers.”

It’s proper 1984, isn’t it, he muttered ominously after being asked to reset his Apple ID password for the third time this month.

Sources close to Williams claim his Orwell-detection skills are now so finely tuned that he once described a council wheelie bin rota as “Big Brother in hi-vis.”

He tried to convince me that getting a parking ticket was just like living in an Orwellian novel, said his long-suffering African grey parrot.

I said no mate, you just parked like an arse. Nothing Orwellian about it.

Williams has also accused the NHS of being Orwellian for asking him to book appointments online, the BBC for only commissioning “agenda-pushing” cooking shows, and a local café for removing cholesterol laden fried greasy bacon from the menu.

He’s never actually read 1984, a concerned ex-girlfriend revealed.

He just played V for Vendetta online once and now thinks a QR code is the first step to a surveillance state.

Experts warn this trend is spreading, with the word “Orwellian” now legally required to appear in every Facebook comment thread involving recycling, parking charges, or literally anything happening within two miles of a camera.

As of press time, Williams was seen shouting “Thoughtcrime!” at a barista for accidentally spelling his name “Detontay” on a paper cup.

He is currently believed to be writing a dystopian novel titled Flat White Fascism: My Life Under the Soy Milk Regime.

I f.ucking adore when FARFARFARFARFARFARFARFARFAR right wing supporters get their fascist panties in a spin, without a moments hesitation over satire!

They never fucking learn or 'get it'.

Every.Single.Time!

Oh.... let me think back to when the great unwanted first started arriving here :p

  • Notting Hill Riots (1958):
The riots erupted in the summer of 1958, fueled by racial animosity and discrimination against immigrants. White youth gangs, often labeled "Teddy Boys," targeted black individuals and their property. The riots were not just limited to Notting Hill but also affected areas like Shepherd's Bush and Ladbroke Grove.

Looks like for over 60 years people have said no to immigration, but still governments let him come and live here.

Now what do you call a group of people who ignoring the will of the people? Fascist maybe?

Think as we think, vote as we vote and do what we say or off to jail you go !!

Tommy Robinson loses appeal bid after claiming prison is ‘making him ill’

"Robinson had been barred from repeating false allegations against a refugee called Jamal Hijazi. Mr Hijazi successfully sued Robinson for libel after the then-schoolboy was assaulted at Almondbury Community School in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, in October 2018."

I wonder if he has learned what "free speech" means, yet? :)

You say this like you've unearthed the hitherto hidden secrets of engineering gold out of old kettles and radios. Really pleased with yourself. Smug as ****.

Just two bits and and pieces that may help you along your way:

1) "Tommy Robinson" is a massive tit. Just about everyone knows this, yet you appear to have recently unearthed this nugget of wisdom and here you are leading the world into the coming enlightenment happy as a pig in sh**.

2) Opinions are protected under the jurisdiction of free speech but demonstrably false statements are not. Everybody knows this, except you. Look out of your front window at 5 o'clock tomorrow morning and you'll see a rat scurrying around looking for the nearest buffet. That rat knows the difference between opinions, demonstrably false statements and the relevance to free speech, but you don't.

I have already presented my extremely well-informed argument, and I won't repeat it again.

You still haven't aired any evidence to support your initial claim.

Simply because none exists.

You don't even appear to support "free speech" and hence an angry response, riddled with insults and sneers.

Now since you boasted, simply because you can't resist boasting, about your career as a "skilled worker" with a "history degree" then you must understand that the onus is on you to support your argument with evidence or at the very least provide examples.

This is how "free speech" works in practice, right, and "free speech" you clearly don't advocate yourself.

Btw, I am curious, why on earth would a "skilled worker" read "history" at university?

Because despite my sincere efforts to explain that the "concept" of "free speech" is not set in stone and therefore is open to "interpretation" you still believe that you are entitled to voice any opinion, any opinion at all, publicly and under the "concept" of "free speech".

Sixth form ideological 'libertarian', shite.

Depending on what that opinion is, of course, you're not free to openly air it, anywhere, at all, and including on this site. :)

Right-o, mate. It was shite the first time 'round, nobody wants to hear it again , even you (by your own admission).

The individual/broth heed going by the name of Kevin quite clearly has never left the front door of his house. He does not have the first clue that it's possible to study history at university and from there go on to being a 'skilled worker'.

What is wrong with you, Kevin? A small, malnourished stoat understands that those two eventualities are not mutually exclusive.

I don't tend to take much notice of men in their 60s who name themselves "lad", anyway.

No evidence, think you are entitled to blurt any old right wing shite you like, and that's the end of it.

Nope, doesn't work like that in the real world. :)

You haven't changed your "style" at all, have you?

Make a claim, then try and waffle your way out of it.

I asked a simple question out of curiosity.

"Skilled workers" as any "skilled worker" will tell you, if you'd ever spoken to one, which you haven't, don't tend to read "history" at university as a rule of thumb.

I am still laughing though, you tried "shutting down" the incredibly annoying Fred by claiming you read history at university, then when he steered the WWll thread in a direction you didn't like, you trotted out the ridiculous "well I woz bored of dat at uni, so I didn't bother".

I don't need to own a farm to smell bullshit. :)
