Bit late I know, but the food is not important when in the right company... Least not to me...and if that roulade followed whatever ya made beforehand, it's a win win...
Hope it all went well

Ah ok... Well main thing is check first there's no possible allergies, or food dislikes... Keep it simple. Worsed thing about trying something new is it could all go wrong. Cook something you've done many times, really takes the pressure off. Myself I'd probably go with a casserole, cos it's easy to prep and ya just bung it in the oven, leaving you time to panic over something else :D But ya had me at roulade ;) :D Good luck :)

For a starter....how about something sensual (if that's the vibe you are going for)
Lightly boil asparagus spears, then toss in an oiled frying pan for one minute...serve and drizzle with melted butter and lemon juice.

Eat with fingers, make sure you provide damp serviettes.

Don't forget to let us know what you eventually decided and a complete list of Barry White songs you played.

The very first meal I cooked for a "friend" and a recipe given to me by my landlady at the time, was chicken breasts in a white wine sauce with rice and runner beans.

The pudding was vanilla ice cream sprinkled with a flake.

I thought it was really posh, it probably wasn't and I burnt the rice.

OK so I have to cook a meal for two at home ....

Gimme some ideas please ....

What is your fav meal to cook and why ?

Thanks you in advance .....Poco_Loco

Poco_Loco,

A wise man knows his limitations and your cooking skills sound very limited. So keep it simple. Steak, baked potatoes and something green like broccoli. Buy a good quality Tiramisu for dessert.

We want photographs Poco_Loco !
