I live in a working class area with row upon row of terraced housing. No drives and no garages. A one way system and cars parked on both sides of narrow roads, and often on the pavement. On bin day, the workmen (and women) have to door knock to get occupants to move their cars for the lorry.

Which begs the question and not something I had given much thought about, where exactly are these "charger stations" going to be situated, and as it's only four years away it is a problem that will have to be tackled sooner rather than later. The only place I can think that is suitable would be charger panels on the walls of houses.

Without central government subsidy, huge rises in council tax will no doubt play a part in providing that localised infrastructure, and which will disproportionally target lower income occupants.

Kev its not that hard to do ;)

They just put them on lamp posts

Ev charging points are a good source of income for many councils. Think parking meters :D

They don't cost that much to install too.

A £2.8 million government grant will allow 500 EV charging points to be installed every year for the next three years.

And the bin men/women will pop round once a month to empty your bins. They may stop altogether and install a recycling point at the end of the road or near by.

But the main change you will see is the size of cars.

A Citroen Ami starting price is 8k.

Dacia spring starting price is 15k

Puma Gen-E starting price is 30k

While car lease/hire company's will buy cars like the Puma, more of the smaller Ev city cars are coming on to the market each year.

So I believe when people get offer a scrappage grant for their old cars, they will buy a new car at the lower end of the market. This should make parking in your road a little easer Kev ;)

Anyone up North will understand what crammed 2 up 2 down back to back terracing and narrow cobbled streets looks like space wise and will understand the point I raised.

They were designed to give passage to a coal man and his horse and cart, not modern vehicles, and don't have 1848584482828282 lampposts to put EV charge points on. :)

Then you will get these

The question is: do you really need a car in 2025?

The growth of e bikes and home delivery made it pointless for most. You will see more investment in public transport too ;)

Blah Blah blah.

This know it all....

In working class communities, where people actually work for a living, not trolling internet chat sites day and night, cars are a vital tool of the trade, and in semi rural areas vital for transport in general.

Already narrow pavements, already used by car users to keep already narrow roads clear for traffic, will not have hundreds of thousands of bollards installed to ensure each house has access to vital infrastructure. :)

Hmmm... Kev

After thinking about this for some time, the only answer I have for you is this:

You have no choice: they will tax you off the roads and shut down all the filling stations.
There a good chance they wont bovver in your area cos its run down and there no real demand.

Think of this like hi speed broadband. In the towns and cites people have had it for years while those outside still have dial up ;)

Blah Blah Blah.

Yeah, taxi drivers will be "taxed off the road", food delivery drivers, plumbers, chippies, brickies, Amazon drivers, the entire service sector on which the British economy is built around.

Troll off, troll boy. :)

Most of the taxi drivers here all have Ev now.

Commercial ev are becoming more common.
And you seem to be UK parcel carrier Yodel has introduced the first EV to its fleet, revealing plans to expand its electrification as part of a £15.2 million investment. A Mitsubishi FUSO eCanter has been added to Yodel's fleet as part of the plan, with more EVs to be introduced later this year.confused, commercial ev are being more common. I'm watching the yodel driver now and his vans electric.

Most of the buses here are eletric too even Hull getting them.

I'm not too sure about the trade vans. They're staring to come in but most are waiting for the grants before replacing them ;)

Blah Blah Blah.

Just repeating what I said earlier as if he thought of it all by himself.

This is the problem communicating with DOA, he types the most nonsensical shite, then feeds off any sensible response.

Troll off, troll boy.
