I am helping a friend to develop a 5 acre site as a haven for wildlife. So far I've planted a range of native flowering plants that attract pollinators, begun to develop a scrub area with food and shelter for birds. A new project is to plant a few of the rarer native fruit trees.
The site also includes wet and dry woodlands. One boundary is a stream with fish - and lately a heron.

It's in the north Pembrokeshire area.
My latest job is to get an area ready to plant a medlar - flowers for bees, plus less usual fruit.

Im not sure where u live. Here we have lovely small hummingbirds. (Google, they have long thin beaks) i have used small containers clear. u put sugar water in them. Yup sugar and water they attrack to it. They lovely, beautiful and very small with wings which flap fast.

Bumble bees i have 2 types. One which love to drill holes in my wood errr. They dont bite but vicious to get to queen bee and fight to death each other. The other type which love my bushes are attracked to my azalea bushes.

Interesting moth. Never have seen that tbh. Only the birds as i do put sugar water out for them near my big bay window and watch them. Not sure if they eat seeds from feeders. Usually see blue jays, cardinals, chickadees, sparrows, robins, doves.

I have to look up moths though. Ty
