While on my latest ban....... not only did I join a Dollar tribute band after the break up of my Bananarama tribute. The band broke up after "creative differences" ( one of the members was a real woman )

But I ordered a new kayak.

With delivery this came to £949.49

My bank charged me "Non-Sterling Transaction Fee NON-STERLING TRANSACTION Card Transaction 28.39"

And this gets worse.... I have to pay 10% import fee £94.
Then VAT on it (£190)

This all comes to £1261.88

That's still cheaper than buying the waveski one 165 I got for my niece for Christmas.

In the past 3 months I've spend over £600 on import taxes:oops:

Its reaching the point where I have to think twice before buying anything from overseas.

With Trump making threats of 25% tariffs imports from America are off the table for now.

And your thinking..... how the **** does this effect me twat?

Well lets look at a new Bosch fridge freezer

Curry sell this for £550 and its made in Poland I think

Now I'm going to take off £50 for Curry's mark up.

Import tax would be £50
Vat would be £100

So the real price is around £350 mark

And it means company's like Hotpoint who do make fridge freezer in the UK just put there prices. If Bosch can sell one for £550 .... so can Hotpoint
It just means we all end up with overpriced crappy stuff and the gov is laughing all the way to the bank

Don't even get me started on cars
