What is the correct form. . . a leopard IS recognised by its stripes or a leopard ARE recognised by its stripes?

A Leopard with stripes? Only you would fall for that......Well that's not true I could think of a few others who might.

    A Tiger is recognised ....
    or
    Tigers are recognised ....

    I think

Recognise and recognize both are acceptable spelling formats just one is American English and the other is British English o_O :D

I think you mean "Tigers, 'ARE' recognised by 'THEIR' stripes". Just an educational bunk up for you.
