I have not seen it yet so thanks for the recommendation I'm going to
I quite liked the most recent Final Destination. I enjoy the gore element. I like the Hostel films for the same reason.
get 28 years later and see what that's like too

I can't rememberthe last movie that truly scared me. These days it's poetry that scares me. It scares me about me. I'm sure that doesn't make a whole lot of sense but Ticus Poetry really shakes me to the rafters.20251021_024453.jpg

What are the Hostel films? I've not heard of them. I could look them up but that would kill the conversation. Sometimes it's better to ask than seek. It keeps the mind pure and open to influence and change without the corruption of presupposition.

If I explained, it would ruin the films lol

One recently that gave me the heebie jeebies was called the witch. Had that really unsettling vibe that made the exorcist so good. My all time favourite is the wicker man.

It's taken me a wee whiley to find the name of this. I remember watching this as a kid and after it, i never looked at small doors or crawl spaces the same ever again.

Dont be afraid of the Dark 1973 wasn't one of the big hitters, but it's got the atmosphere that most of them are lacking these days.

If you like atmosphere, the director Robert Eggers, his projects are some of the best modern movies.

Oooh, thank you for this... and you are more than very welcome. I did not know about the remake, slightly miffed that i missed it at the time as i rather enjoy the majority of Guillermo del Toro's works.
I've just recently watched his take of Frankenstein... and i often go back for an episode from his Cabinet of Curiosities (i'll drop a mention of that once i'm done here) and of course Pan's Labyrinth and the Hell Boys need a wee nod too.

I'll certainly be finding a few spare hours to stare at this remake, thank you for the heads up :)
