Under UK law .......economic migrants and refugees fleeing war can be the same thing.
Lets say your 20 something, no skills or education. You'd never get into the EU or UK. You'd never get a visa.
But all hell breaks loose and even if the troubles no where near you or ever effect you in any shape or form, a door opens into the wider world. You can get into the EU, America or UK now.
Once there you can earn 10 times what you did at home doing unskilled work. If you work hard you can buy a house and build a new life you could only dream of before.
So are you an economic migrant or a refugee?
Skilled workers can always get visa and work anywhere, unskilled workers cant.
But.... UK law is clear, we cant chose refugees based on skills or education.
I feel the only refugees the UK should be taking are from the UN resettlement program. These people come from the camps on boarders of war zones. They didn't pay someone 10 grand to smuggle them 1/2 way around the world. The ones on the boats crossing the channel should be held in jail and removed within a month. The UK should make it clear, you cross the channel, there no place for you here. I don't care where your from.
