Two that I would recommend are:

1. Horror Express (1972)
2. Night of the Demon (1957)

They might be quite old films but they present fascinating, psychological horror, which is the most disturbing sort of horror, I think.
If you want something fractionally more recent, then might I recommend Scanners (1981)? Another psychological horror, effectively.

My all time fave scene, when the vampire knocks on the window in salems lot.
I wouldnt go upstairs alone to bed or the toilet alone for 5 years.
My mums grass went yellow, if you catch my drift.
I snapped out of it when i turned 45 though.

I think Eden Lake is one of the scariest films I've seen, no cheap jumpscares in that one.

The Descent...brrrr
Absolutely pretentious bollocks! It went downhill from the start. Thank God for escalators and lifts (elevators, that is, to the ignoramuses).
