Blood sports?

Blood Sports are generally accepted in the USA.
How is it viewed in the UK?
I know there are hunters in the Isles, both big game and small game.
Is it expensive there?
Not that I'll ever see the shores of the UK, I'd like to, but age and infirmities won't allow me.
In E Idaho where I live, hunting and fishing are still possible for a knock on a farmer's door, though that is more difficult than it used to be.
I live on less than an acre, but my back yard has seen Hungarian Partridge, Pheasant, Mallard ducks, Deer, and even Moose.
Across the street we've even had Cougar last week. Wolves just two miles out of town and venturing closer all the time.
The area I live in is a flat farming community, but the banks of the Snake River are only 150 yards away and perhaps it draws so much wildlife in close.

I'd like to see ratting brought back, I think it was made illegal in the 1800's. It's where a number of rats are placed into a pit and a dog let loose on them. Gamblers then bet on how long it takes the dog to kill them all. To help reduce the growing rat infestation it would be stipulated that all the rats that go into the pit must have been caught in the wild or sewers. I think this would cut down on the illegal dog fighting that's booming in this country. If it stops the rats that are invading my garden - Bring it on!

Maybe if we did that there would be another Black Death Go rodents x some say it wasn't Rats it was human lice that was spreading it but if it was Rodents with attitudes like that go Rats x

The Vectors: Fleas would contract the bacteria from infected rodents and then transmit it to humans through bites or direct handling of infested clothing.

Human-to-Human Spread: In its pneumonic form, the bacteria could spread directly through the air via coughing.
