Health experts recommend eating more vegans

Health experts are recommending that people try to eat more vegans on a regular basis to improve their well-being.

“If the average person ate just one vegan a week, they would see a boost to their immune system, better sleep and an improved libido,” explained vegan expert Dr Simon Williams.

“It’s the strict plant-based diet that does it. It makes the average vegan full of vitamins and nutrients that are tremendously good for humans.

“They’re also often quite low in fat and can be very tasty.”

Dr Williams cautioned people to be careful when sourcing vegans.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have any real standard in this country for identifying genuine vegans.

“You could, in all good faith, get yourself what looks like a lovely tasty vegan and then you take him home and cut him open only to find he’s full of cheeseburgers and turkey twizzlers and has simply been pretending to be vegan just to act all superior.”

Only get vegans from places where there is a well-recognised supply of genuine vegans.

“Health-food shops, organic greengrocers, and Brighton,” said Dr Williams.

“You get your vegans from one of those places and you won’t go far wrong.”

Dr Williams dismissed any suggestion that, instead of eating more vegans, one simply adopts a vegan lifestyle.

“Good Lord, no,” he said, visibly alarmed.

“Adopt a vegan lifestyle and there’s every chance that some health food nut will come along and eat you in order to boost to their immune system, sleep and better and improve their libido.”

I don't recommend it. Unless you get one that works out, the meat can be a bit stringy. They also take aaages to boil, so better to roast.
My old friend Dennis (Nilson, Neilson...something like that) used salt to tenderise them first. I'd take his tip- he was an expert.

Hufu was a product marketed as tofu designed to resemble human flesh in taste and texture. The tongue-in-cheek Hufu website was in existence from May 2005 to June 2006. The creators claimed that Milla Jovovich coined the term after hearing about the product's development while on the Eurostar from London to Paris.

Hufu was touted as "the healthy human flesh alternative" for "cannibals who want to quit", as well as a product for anthropology students studying cannibalism. According to its website, hufu is also "a great convenience food for cannibals. No more Friday night hunting raids! Stay home and enjoy the good healthy taste of hufu."

Mark Nuckols (founder and CEO of Hufu, LLC)—then a student at Tuck School of Business—claimed that the concept of Hufu occurred to him when he ate a tofurkey sandwich while reading "Good To Eat: Riddles of Food and Culture", a book on cannibalism by anthropologist Marvin Harris. Nuckols is also an honors JD graduate of Georgetown University Law Center.

Samantha Bee of The Daily Show interviewed Nuckols. In the interview, he said "I think that a lot of the pleasure of eating the Hufu product, is imagining you're eating human flesh. For that moment, you can join the fraternity of cannibals... If you really want to come as close as possible to the experience of cannibalism, Hufu is your best option." Nuckols was also interviewed by a variety of radio and print media, including The Harvard Crimson[4] and The Stanford Daily. Stuff You Should Know, a podcast from HowStuffWorks.com, touched on Hufu during the introduction of the "How the Donner Party Worked" episode in March, 2012.

The Hufu home page eathufu.com closed as of mid-2006. According to Mark Nuckols, he closed the website simply because "the world has moved on past hufu, and the site was more expensive to run than it was worth." The web design studio that created the site maintains a case history illustrating the design concepts that were present in the site.
