You don't need to read religious books or believe in ANY God or Gods to obtain 'Power beyond what is normal'.I enjoyed very much a discussion I had recently with others, and one of the scriptures that was highlighted was 2 Corinthians 4:7, which shows that God provides "power beyond what is normal" as a treasure. The scripture is relating to doing God's will while the circumstances are bad, but it was good to consider that although God supplies power beyond what is normal, there is an onus on us to provide the power that IS normal.
In other words, waiting on God to provide power beyond what is normal while we're not providing our OWN power, and doing what we can, is laziness, and not fair to do. It was food for thought for me, and I hope it is for you too. Don't expect God to carry our load that is our own to carry. When we carry our own load, we are told we will be helped, but it's not a logistics service.
It's only SAD when you look at it through YOUR eyes Moriarty. To be fair, unless you define what both Power and Normal are, you have no idea what beyond is.
It's a simple word play to explain something which is an idea not a fact.
It's like Diversity and Inclusion.
Those are valid, until one add's Equality.
Then all the diverse and inclusive ideas in the world matter not, because they are all equal.
Which means they don't actually matter.
Because, realistically, no one is equal, we are all born with different traits which make us individuals hence suited to a role.
Tis the message that matters, not the opinion.
Religion is the same way, one can debate if God is good or not, if the Church is good or not, If we have a soul or not.
Where is the evidence?
Faith is believing in something one cannot prove.
Sounds a lot to me like hope and love.
Both of which are fallible.
They involve human emotion.
Human emotion is flawed, we get ideas where we think we know truth.
Then act on them.
Be that a suicide bomber or some asshole who throws soup on a painting.
They are not asking one simple question.
What is truth.
People today are forgetting to think, they are being caught up in ideology, be that religious, ideological, environmental (which a religion all its own) or simply looking for something because they fear for the future.
Tis so sad.
Reality tends to feck up ideology. It's only SAD when you look at it through YOUR eyes Moriarty.
You say some good stuff. But you're mired with you past.
The 'Truth'....That's what we are all after.
We can only find that in ourselves.
