Good afternoon guys,
For years, I have had neck pain that suddenly appears overnight then disappears a few days or even weeks later, and at times it will even cause shoulder pain. After my GP explained that there is no underlying medical reason other than wear and tear, and since I already have a reasonably good quality mattress, she suggested it might be my pillows, and I immediately embarked on a mission to find the perfect pillow, a quest seeking the holy grail of pillows.
This journey took me far and wide, cheap and expensive, soft and firm, feathers or featherless, foam or fibre, one pillow or two. You know what? I think I have only gone and bloody cracked it at long last, guys. My latest pillow is memory foam, with an inner core of shredded memory foam to give it more flexibility and with an antibacterial cover made of bamboo. At first, it feels like your head is on a trampoline, such is the bounce factor, but after the pillow moulds to the shape of your head neck and shoulder, it is by far the most comfortable pillow I have ever pillowed. Time will tell if it lives up to the rigours of someone who tosses and turns in deep sleep, but for now, at this moment in time, I will sleep like a newborn calf.
