We have all seen Trump kick off many times before. This week it was tariffs 
A tariff is a tax.
A good ensample of a "tariff" is VAT in the UK or Tax Districts in USA.
Trumps just put a tax on imports.
In the end, America cant product all the goods it needs. From phones to metals, prices will go up. It will take years to set up new manufacturing plants and create jobs. It just means American's will pay more tax.
And I'd like to point out to our worried American friends fentanyl imports wont be effect by this
