Stamp collecting

As an avid stamp collector, I am appalled at the post office cancelling stamps with a biro or felt-tip pen, thereby destroying the stamp. One part of the P.O promotes stamp collecting with new commemoratives, first day issues etc, and another part of the P.O defaces stamps, marvellous!

Oh I used to collect Roman coins, but they got lost during a bin-bag move (moving out with just what I could put in a bag!) I've kept father's stamp collection going, just for old times sake. It just does my nut in when I get letters with beautiful stamps on that have a bloody great pen mark right through them.

I have collected all sorts over the years - I am not a hoarder though ( I prefer minimalism) and now things are starting to get a bit out of hand (spacewise) so I am considering selling up.

Oh I am a hoarder! I have postcards dating from 1903 (not personally sent or received by me ) they're just another thing I collect. I have Dan Dare, Dr Who and some Blake's 7 memorabilia all over the place. I dread to think what I'd do if I had to downsize.

They would have probably been valuable (the Roman coins) I think.

No, the coins were of little value because they were in such poor condition. It was just something I started off collecting but didn't see through.
