I never thrived in my English classes , I was usually looking out of the window....
Words u find really tricky to remember
share a few words that always trip u up when it comes to spelling

1. Pigeon
2. Iguana
3. Logorrhea
4. Sencerly (sincerely)

I never had trouble with spelling the word, you. In fact, I cannot recall any particular word I had a problem with spelling.
I wonder why books seem to have the correct spelling of words, in the main.
Both chat rooms and Forums have a spellchecking facility, so, there really is NO reason to misspell ANY word nowadays.
I do hope that you will avail yourself of this facility in the future.

Why someone who normally struggles to make themselves understood is posting anything in this thread is beyond me.
Not only do we require a spellchecker, we would also benefit from a 'Gobbledegook translator', on a regular basis.
Some threads are often not started by the 'sharpest tools in the toolbox'!

Also, 'definitely' is often 'definately' or even 'defiantly'.
'Immediantly' is a strange one. You wouldn''t write 'immediant', so why add 'ly' to it and make it an imagined adverb?
'Quiet' becomes 'quite' often, as in 'it was very quite'. Quite what?!
Diarrhoea is spelt like this, unless you are American.
Haemorrhoids are quiet (DELIBERATE!) grim, I here (deliberate!).

Weirdnesses which are new include 'lay' instead of 'lie': I went for a lay down. No, you didn't. Did you produce an egg?
Another is the 'sat' / 'stood' thing. I was sat. No you weren't; you were sitting. I was stood. STOPPITT. You were standing.

I never patrol spelling in chatrooms; I find it rude, but the above are strange things I see infiltrating nowadays. There are many things I can't do either. Seen me dance?!
