Overuse of the word 'Astronaut'

Pop star Katy Perry can now be called an astronaut. I wonder what those pioneers of space flight think of that? The brave men and women who flew the Apollo, Soyuz and Space Shuttle missions... 'The Right Stuff' they were known as... is right.

Well that's the same as being called a pilot cos you took a 747 from New York to London
100 years ago flying the Atlantic was a really big deal, these days its more common than thrush.

I must admit, I'm struggling to get excited with these space missions, things they were doing in the 1960's! I always remember father telling me that when they landed on the moon in 1969, people expected we'd be on Mars in 10 years. Progress in space exploration seems to be moving at glacier speed.

I get you. Talking about speed? Space is, as far as we know... INFINITE... So talking about 'Speed' is as good as ME saying I won't assassinate anyone here soon.

The mods here can take a breath of relief.

Universally .... We are here for just a moment in time. A blink of an eye.

Exploration of other planets is WAY out of our reach.

Spacecrafts travel at what 5/6 miles per second? If memory serves, light speed is 186,000 miles per second. Technology has some way to go!

Weather or not we can Actually have humans out there for lengthy periods...

Neither does our moon..

Humans won't return to the Moon anytime soon. There is no need. The Moon holds many minerals we can mine, we don't need Humans to do that.. They will send Droids to do it when they have figured out a safe way to do it and if the minerals are actually needed at all.

Mars is different. It needs Terraforming. Which IS possible but it would require Humans to be there to do the work. And Billions of £$...

I'm 61 years old. Before i'm 75 i think we will have people on Mars.

What comes of that...? all of us here most likely won't see it.

I have always had the thought...In 100 years time....No one here right now will be alive.

I'm not scared of dying. I'm more scared of what i have to live with what is contained within my brain.

Some difficult stuff/Memories i cant shake.

I deal with them but some stick...Those that stick and you just can't forget them....The more you try to forget the BETTER the Brain Remembers them...Yep...The Human Brain...Reverse Psychology built in....! To remember things we DON'T want to remember...But forget the things we REALLY need to remember.!

What a lot of folk forget is that we are an ANIMAL. We aren't supposed to be holed up in boxes watching a mind numbing box in the corner.

We are an ANIMAL.

We have 'Instincts'.

But those instincts are subdued.

Because of what?...>>>>> Some people Higher in Power than US telling us it's NOT NATURAL...!

This applies to both Women and Men.

BUT....It's ANIMAL instinct..!

You subdue this instinct.... you are going to have problems down the line.

Which is what we see Today.
