Spending the weekend at Whitley Bay, I popped into a charity shop there. All the books were £1.75 each. £1.75! Tatty old, well-thumbed books with creases down the spines. I know it's for charity but they were 'aving a laugh.

I buy most of my books from charity shops and, yes, £1:75 is a lot. I never pay more than £1. These shops want a quick turnover of money, so it isn't in their interests to charge too much.

I only buy electricals from charity shops because it's 99.9% womens clothes & toys but I have noticed they're charging stupid money for TV's like, you can buy a brand new 28in TV for £60 from Asda but seen a 22in in a charity shop last week for £80
eeeee baaaa gum the bastards
