Man who claims to ‘despise all socialist principles’ picks kids up from state school after driving on public roads to get his hand bandaged at A&E

Local man Ray Cyst, who regularly floods his social media feeds with diatribes against “the dangers of socialism,” has been spotted utilising a trifecta of socialist services all before lunchtime today.

Cyst, known for his hate filled Facebook posts decrying anything remotely left-of-center as “the downfall of modern society,” seamlessly transitioned from driving on public roads, to picking his children up from state-funded education, to visiting an Accident & Emergency department for a minor hand injury—all without the merest hint of irony.

Sources close to Cyst confirm that his daily routine heavily relies on what he terms “the scourge of socialism.”

When pressed about the apparent contradiction, Cyst waved off the accusation with his freshly bandaged hand, explaining, “It’s different when I do it because I actually work for my benefits. If I’ve got a job then I don’t benefit from socialism. That’s how it works.”

This statement came moments after thanking NHS staff for their quick, free-at-the-point-of-care medical treatment, a feature of the very socialist healthcare system he regularly opposes online.

Critics argue that Cysts’ behaviour is emblematic of a broader misunderstanding of socialism’s role in providing public services within a functioning society.

“Ray loves to hate on ‘socialist ideas’ from his state-funded road to the state-funded school, all while enjoying the peace of mind that comes with state-funded healthcare,” commented a visibly amused neighbour, who prefers to remain anonymous for fear of becoming the next target of Williams’ poorly spelled social media tirades.

“He doesn’t seem to realise, like the rest of the world, that socialist programmes can coexist quite comfortably with capitalist ones. Only morons believe they are mutually exclusive.”

In a bid to clarify his stance, Cyst later posted a lengthy Facebook update, arguing that “true socialism is when the government does stuff I don’t like, and the more stuff it does that I don’t like, the more socialist it is.”

The post concluded with a pledge to further research socialism, starting with a deep dive into the Wikipedia page for “Capitalism” during his next A&E visit.

As of press time, Cyst was seen googling “Is the fire brigade socialist?” after a small kitchen fire prompted a swift response from the local fire brigade, once again courtesy of public funding.

Friends are eagerly awaiting the mental gymnastics that will accompany his next social media update.

In a recent documentary I watched, an economic migrant in the USA was working two low paid jobs back to back in the service sector. Took multiple bus rides to reach that work, and in the second job had no choice but to work longer if there were staff shortages etc, and despite not sleeping or even taking a proper break for up to 16 hours beforehand. The woman would nap on the bus in-between jobs, and everyone else on these buses was also napping, catching 30 minutes here and there.

All on the so-called "legal" minimum wage (or less and lower than the UK) that barely covered her bills and rent for a small 'apartment' (bedsit) in a graffiti strewn, crime riddled neighbourhood that had a metal grill protecting the solitary window.

The American dream, get off your backside and work for a living, and you will be financially rewarded, right?

The UK is not that far behind, house builders, land barons and the rentier class have driven up costs for housing to such an extent that it is cheaper for low paid service sector workers to bus and train into large swathes of large cities and towns rather than actually living locally.

At the risk of repeating myself, this is the reality, it isn't a bleak a dystopian future, it is right here right now and not in the pages of a sci-fi novel. It is also economic illiteracy, it isn't actually "cheaper", or "efficient" and it costs society more in the long run.

Large swathes of London will (and has) become a gated city for the wealthy and middle-classes, and hired help in the service sector bussed in to service their every whim. Ask yourself why that privileged class pay exactly the same council tax as the poorest living in a different borough, a few miles away, and an already privileged class who receive more in central government funding, on a like for like basis, than those poorer neighbourhoods.

I'd like to ramble on but getting back to the thread topic, these sausages who constantly bemoan "socialism", really do have no idea how much they benefit from the concept. From the NHS to all vital infrastructure, for the greater good of ALL in society, being eroded before their very eyes over the past 14 years. When they whine in one breath about another local library closing, or another leisure facility, or another local government building sold to property developers, and then in the next breath whine about socialism spending other people's money.

That 10 hour wait in A+E that costs the public burse untold billions in lost time. Those potholes that have to be filled in at some point. Those school roofs that will have to be fixed, well, capitalism hasn't "fixed" it and "socialism" will.

When 'corporatism' becomes too big to fail, and when government money (our money and "socialism") is used to prop up that crony capitalism with "tax breaks" or to bail it out financially when it does fail and which is inevitable because history already tells us, it always does fail.
