Reporting of the local elections this week has proved that both BBC News and Sky News are not fit for purpose.

Despite the obvious failing of the Labour party and the success of the Tory's, all the BBC seem to be concentrating on are the results in Scotland, and Sky seem to be determined to find any way they can twist the figures so that it doesn't seem quite so bad for Keir Starmer. For instance, BBC Radio News this morning had nothing about the results in England, concentrating on the results in Scotland and Wales (if you go to the BBC News website they have even put the Scottish and Welsh results before the ones from England) , while one Sky article claims:

Election results: Tories' majority would be cut if local voting was translated nationally - Sky News analysis

This despite every one of Sky's own categories (except one -Scottish Parliament) show gains for the Conservatives.

Surely they are fooling nobody????

The BBC managed to find a local vicar in Hartlepool who is devastated by the election result, claiming "You should see the line of people who come to her church who can't feed their children", She obviously forgot that Hartlepool has been a Labour Council for 60 years. they also found a guest who said "Labour are more popular with educated voters", essentially calling non-Labour voters uneducated. It seems these nutters never learn from their mistakes. This is the Party that chose to put a Remain biased candidate up for election in a constituency that voted heavily for Brexit. A very 'educated' decision!!

Now, the media are supposed to REPORT the news, not manipulate it to their own agenda. They shouldn't have political activists (Laura Kuenssberg) in their employment, and they should gives us the facts without putting their own biased spin on them.

From a personal point of view, I'm pleased that most people see through their weak disguise (portrayed as 'balanced' news), and have ignored the propaganda. The masses have rightly ignored that the media seemed determined to make these elections about wallpaper and sleaze, and instead voted about the real issues; promising economy, vaccine roll-out success, post-Brexit growth, and other topics that matter to real people.

Having said that, this country NEEDS a strong opposition. While Labour cling lamely to the Corbynites. and are bending over backwards for every minority in the country, ignoring and actively discriminating against the man/woman in the street, while they think photoshoots of their leader holding up a roll of wallpaper is going to gain voters, while they have no recognisable manifesto (even some of their own councillors admit they have no idea), Boris and the Tories will never be caught. Even their own MPs seem to know better than Starmer, Labour MP Khalid Mahmood hits the nail on the head. He says Labour is a London-based bourgeoisie with the support of brigades of woke social media warriors. Sums it up.

The Brexit vote should have been a clue.... but it seems to me that Labour have just forgotten that the British people matter, and they won't be conned or forgotten.

Let's hope they learn this time.

It seems now Starmer honestly thinks that sacking a feisty middle aged woman from Oldham is the best way to appease the hard working voter on the street. He really doesn’t have a clue.

Politics should be about policies not personalities, but unfortunately that isn't the case. For all his failings, Johnson is a very likeable chap. Starmer isn't. He's not a people person. Trying to blacken the name of your opponent doesn't win votes, it's just puts you in a poor light.
The last time Labour were in power, they left a mess for the Tories to clean up. People haven't forgotten. There are also too many Corbynites still in the party.

The fact that Sky News sent all their presenters to Edinburgh to cover the election, was a clear indication of what was to come. As for the BBC, well yes, notwithstanding that I do like Laura Kuenssberg, I take your point.
As some are now saying, it's not Keir Starmer, it's 'Unclear Starmer', Who is he, what does he stand for? His decision making is certainly questionable. Imposing his preferred candidate for the Hartlepool by-election, a fanatical supporter of the E.U just showed he had no understanding of the anger people felt towards a political class that tried to overturn the referendum. And then there was the photo opportunity stunt at the John Lewis wallpaper department, just to try and embarrass Boris. Cheap party politics.
btw I love that quote 'woke social media warriors', there's one or two on here! :)
