Thats not clear what you are askng. Chat relationships are just that, relationships, good the bad and the ugly. If youare asking can you fll in love with someone whilst chatting, well pardon me but thats probably the silliest thing i have heard. You cant help who you fall for. There are no boundaries. ..Going further I might argue some find it even easier to fall for someone though online chat as you get to know the real person......are ..you..understanding..me.

It depends how committed and determined the two people are. Are they willing ti make the sacrifice of possibly travelling hundreds of miles to see the other person. But even then, there's no guarantee that you'll click when you finally meet in person, so there's also that risk to consider.
You also have to consider each other's lives and current situations. Do they work, are they financially stable, or will you be supporting them until they find employment. These are practical questions.

Depends how desperate people are not to grow old alone.
People will put up with a lot of chit to alleviate loneliness.

I have made this point to one or two people in the chatrooms, and in private; strangely with conflicting views.
Distance is quite probably the biggest determining factor if and when two people would consider taking a friendship in a chatroom towards the goal of a relationship, and beyond. I think it is quite likely to have influenced many people who have thought of taking things a stage further.
As you have said, there's likely to be quite a catalogue of 'sacrifices' to be made by at least one of the people involved.

Someone said to me that they would be prepared to travel '1000's of miles' to be with somebody they loved. A very idyllic and vainly romantic notion, in my opinion. That then requires the term love to be qualified. Another minefield of untried and untested emotions that can only be judged in reality.
In that regard, I would be pleased to hear of anyone's experiences undertaken on such a scale, and whether or not they were happy with their decision in the end.
Not that I wish to override the original question in this thread, of course.
:)

Speaking from personal experience... You chat in the room, then the private messages start... phone numbers get swapped, then you meet up. How successful this liaison is depends on a couple of things - how lonely you're feeling an how attracted to the other person you are... Distance is a factor, but not in the beginning. But after a while, that trawl up the motorway... there comes a point when you think, it's just not worth it.
And if you're lucky, that's the end of it. If you're not, the other person trashes you in the chat room

You've traveled thousands of miles throughout the dessert, barely surviving, only to receive a message from Sarah asking where are you.

Was the dessert sticky toffee pudding? It might explain the very long journey. :D

If two people get on in the room enough to want to meet up and they do ?..then i guess it goes the same way any other meeting or date etc goes just because its where you meet means bugger all does it really but yes ...distance and commitment is the key and it needs to be the same for both ...oh and lets not forget ...fucking honesty!!!

if your really married and being a b**** let ppl know before they meet the other half on the driveway! ...

Unless they live down the same street as you, it is highly-likely that you will be compelled to travel, even if they live in the same town.

I was foolish enough when I first started chat to think it could, now I am very skeptical and doubt it very much.
