This time it's Jimmy Carr caught in a blizzard of snowflakery.
"Joking about the genocide of an ethnic minority is not funny." they wept
The comments were greeted with applause and laughter from the audience. (and from me personally). And not to show disrespect to anyone involved in the truly awful events of both the world wars, but this sort of humour hits the nail on the head for me. The issue I have with these people in this particular complaint is this:
The title of his show was called Jimmy Carr Dark Material. There's one clue right there even before you watch it as to the sort of crap it involves. Actually there's 2 clues. The other one is "Jimmy Carr". His material is pretty well known. If you don't like n-word or pedo jokes then simply don't watch his shows. Even during the show he telegraphed his biggest punches with the words"career enders" and then proceeded to make the jokes. Why can't the snowflakes just turn their TV off at that point? Actually I'd rather push them all, one by one, down a flight of stairs.
Another reason I agree for their right to end their own lives is that they want to take my enjoyment away from me because they don't like it. I enjoy racist and dark jokes. I know dam well not to make aeroplane jokes at a New York memorial service and that would be extremely wrong. At a comedy club where the material is known to be of such stuff AND you are warned in advance? Let it be. It's possible to be respectful of people that you also make derogatory jokes about. They key in doing so is context. TV companies give you plenty warning about what stuff is offensive so please don't sue if you are concussed by a "mind your head" sign.
As a personal example I am honestly not a fan of this Pride or LGBT stuff that keeps getting mentioned. But I also don't want to put a stop to it because some people do enjoy it. And if at these events they want to make jokes against heterosexual men then that is also fine by me (I'd likely enjoy some myself). If you want to put a stop to something then spend your efforts on stopping something causing actual harm.
