Bowie was a musician and had never been to Mars, so the question is hypothetical.

'Life' is a perception. There are those that function that do not think they have a life, but then there are those that have a life that merely see it as functioning.
Mars is a dead planet, so it possibly had life but that is not the current state of it, so no- there is no life on Mars (the planet).

However, stick a Mars (the candy bar) outside in Summer and watch life form. In that situation, yes, there is life on Mars- micro biotic life!

Spirit creatures don't rely on water. They're a form of life of which we're not aware of how they exist, nor what their parameters are. In fact, the majority of people don't believe in them, yet the Scriptures show they existed before the physical earth was made.
