Georgia protests enter fourth night. In the past Russia would have sent the tanks in, but right now they cant due war in Ukraine.
Syrian civil war faired up over the last week or so and again Russia cant really do much about it.

They're unconfirm reports of more NATO troops being moved to the Russia border. With Trump taking over the White House next month, Europe's reenforcing the area encase the Americans pull out.

What will Trump and Putin do in January?

If Trump forces peace on Ukraine, Putin's got the troop numbers to take Georgia and Syrian.

The Americans wont like the idea of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham taking over Syria. This affiliate of Al Qaeda will cause a shock wave in Washington and Tel Aviv. Its why I feel they wont do much to stop Putin moving in.

Georgia a funny one, it's hard to tell what will happen. The protests we're seeing now echo Ukraine before the war. If the Russians move in its another war on the edge of Europe. I don't think NATO would want that but it's hard to know how NATO will respond.

I hate to say this but its best for all right now if the war in Ukraine continues.

It's confusing and odd to have a U.S state and a country having the same name - Georgia. AS for Ukraine I can't see the war lasting much longer. - 60,000 Ukrainian troops have deserted this year: Former Kyiv minister admits situation on the frontline 'looks bad... if it continues like this we will lose the war'

I don't think 60,000 is too bad after years of war.

During World War II, around 100,000 British soldiers deserted from the armed forces. This was in addition to thousands of deserters from Commonwealth forces, including those from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa

We still won ww2

We may very well have won WW2 but did we win the peace? After bombing half of Europe back into the stone age, all those cities had to be rebuilt. We're still using railways built by the Victorians!

If the Victorians built our railways they mite work
The main issue with our railways was cost cutting after the Beeching report in 63.

I was talking to someone else about post ww2 Britain last week. I grew up with bombs sites and they were around until the 1990's. Its hard to know what the UK got out of WW2. Around 500,000 died, Britain is still paying off the bills even now and our empire was lost.

When I think about it, our involvement didn't make much difference. The Germans still killed millions, the Russia still took eastern Europe. The only time anyone declare war on Britain in the last 150 years was Japanese in 1941. If Britain move more towards allowing independence in far east in the mid 1930's, Britain could have avoid that war too. I feel the Japanese would've left Hong Kong alone if Britain had.
