Our government is giving 3 billion pounds to Ukraine this year. That's about same cost as 78,000 NHS nurses !!!
To pay this 3 billion pound bill cuts are being made to help for the old and poor this winter.

And its not just Ukraine, we giving another 8.3 billon in overseas development aid to places like China and India.

I keep hearting about a £22 billion “black hole” in the public finances.... just over 11 billion of that leaves the country.

But why would the government care? They know there nothing we can do about it for another 4 years

BBC News - £22bn pledged for carbon capture projects

Oh look... an utterly unnecessary £22 billion government investment over the next 5 years in a white elephant that nobody needs. These arseholes could scrap this tomorrow and there wouldn't be a black hole.

That's right. If we got rid of this nonsense we could make sure no pensioners freeze to death for 5 years, pay all those extra nurses for 5 years, arm the Ukrainians, pay the international development/aid budget and still have money left over.

So after 14 years of economic illiteracy from the previous bunch of imbeciles, now we get this idiocy. It doesn't matter who we vote for, all we're going to get is more stupidity and cruelty from a bunch of sadistic twats in suits who don't give a sh** about their country or its citizens.

Don't worry though, if we all keep fighting each other and staying divided and conquered everything will be just fine. After all - so long as there's zero chance of anyone noticing that giant dildo covered in pictures of the British flag being rammed up their arse, we can just carry on with business as normal until the next futile election.

What about the £100 million spent by HS2 to build a 'shed' for the protection of bats  how many grannies would that have saved?

Call a General Election

I would like there to be another General Election.

I believe the current Labour Government have gone back on the promises they laid out in the lead up to the last election.

Ok, now I've stopped laughing at the petition I must say it's a fantastic idea.

A completely futile tantrum based gesture with no hope of success, being enacted by people who either

1) Don't understand how Parliament works, and/or
2) Don't respect the results of a fair and free election, and/or
3) Are just a bunch of wimps who think if they stamp their feet and shout enough they'll always get their own way - up to and including abolishing democracy.

Pathetic.

If the numbers reach 100,000 they have to hold a debate in Parliament.

With most of the MP's new to Parliament this year, its a good reminder that there state employees. They have no job security and can be sacked.
MP recall notices are on the rise too.

Of course a government with a majority of over 160 parliamentary seats will call for an immediate confidence vote in themselves and advise their MPs not to vote for their own party.

Get real.

I did look at the petition right now and its about 1.5 million after a few days.
This could be labours "winter of discontent".

Long term this means less votes for the 2 main party's. No one is happy with the current system and are becoming more open to extreme politics.

Worrying times for any MP.

Labour's popularity has risen in the latest polls.

The government will simply argue (not that I agree) that they inherited a £22 billion black hole.

"Difficult decisions".

With such a huge majority, albeit 80% didn't vote labour, (FPTP shittery) hell would freeze over before an election was called, and this petition is politically motivated to keep this issue on the front pages.

Labour will ride it out, the end.

Should they have tapered the WFA cap properly, yes they should have.

According to Age UK, it will drag 2.5 million OAPs into further poverty and not including sick or disabled OAPs on a slightly higher income who rely on equipment that is extremely expensive to run.

I would also argue the affluent middle-class should not get a single penny from the taxpayer (child benefit). :)

Starmer's personal popularity rating is sweet bugger all to do with Labours slight rise in the polls.

This sausage can't distinguish between the two.

Believes a petition will force an election and while I am no fan of Labour, sausage boy believes Labour should have already fixed the mess left by 14 years of Tory misrule in four months.

The grown-ups will decide at the end of Labour's first term at the next election. :)

I have NEVER claimed Boris "caused" Brexit, not a single time EVER.

Someone with more patience than me explain to sausage boy that Johnson resigned as an MP in 2023 after the Commons Privileges Committee investigation into his conduct that unanimously found that he had lied to the Commons on numerous occasions.

Boris is a proven serial liar, a scumbag of the first degree, and what sort of person would defend his corruption now.

Only another serial liar such as sausage boy. ;)
